May I please that Bhagavan Buddha! May I not displease! Having gone forth in that very doctrine, having abandoned all defilements, may I realize the state of Arhat! May my wisdom also be sharp! May I also obtain meditation, liberation, samadhi, and attainments, and may I be swift in entering and rising from attainments! Even for the duration of sewing a single stitch, may I enter into and rise from other samadhis. Thus he spoke. Then the two parents saw this and asked, "Son, what aspiration did you make?" He told them everything, saying, "I made such an aspiration." The two parents said, "May you alone be our son! May we two also be your parents! Relying solely on you, may we two please the Bhagavan Buddha! May we not displease!" Thus they spoke. Monks, what do you think? That one who became a monk at that time was this very nasal flower. Having gone forth there also in the doctrine of the perfectly complete Buddha Light Protector, having served according to the Dharma, having revered the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, by the ripening of the karma of making aspirations, wherever he was born, he was born into a wealthy, rich, and greatly enjoying family. He became handsome, pleasing to look at, and beautiful, and as soon as he was born, from all parts of his body, the fragrance of nasal flowers arose, and at the time of entering the womb and at the time of birth, a rain of nasal flowers fell in his house. Monks, I have become extremely similar to the perfectly complete Buddha Light Protector, extremely similar in strength, similar in deeds, and similar in means. This one has pleased me and has not displeased me, and having gone forth in my doctrine, having abandoned all defilements, having realized the state of Arhat, and having become sharp in wisdom, having obtained meditation, liberation, samadhi, and attainments, and having become swift in entering and rising from attainments.

Then, the Blessed One said to the Brahmin boy: Boy, if you say, "I do not need this rice porridge," then afterwards I will give it to you. Then, he said: Hey, Gautama, I do not need this rice porridge. Having said these words, the Blessed One gave that rice porridge to the Brahmin boy. At that time, the benefactor Anathapindika was standing not far from the Blessed One. He thought: The Blessed One cannot accept other alms, because that is not the time. Having thought this, he pulled the Brahmin boy aside and said to the Brahmin boy: Brahmin boy, return the rice porridge to the Blessed One, and I will give you five hundred gold coins. The Brahmin boy said: Householder, do as you please. Having said this, the Brahmin boy put the rice porridge into the Blessed One's bowl. Then, the Blessed One began to

Having accepted the alms bowl, he went to the monastery. The householder Anāthapiṇḍada also took the Brahmin boy home, gave him food, and then gave him five hundred Kārṣāpaṇas and sent him away. Then, the monks reported to the Blessed One: "Venerable One, it is amazing! When this Brahmin boy asked the Blessed One for the alms bowl, the Blessed One did not give it to him. When he said, 'Oh, Gautama, I don't need this alms bowl,' the Blessed One gave it to him, please take a look." The Blessed One said: "Monks, this Brahmin boy has cultivated and meditated on the mere thought of asking for countless thousands of lifetimes, and has increased it, so he always relies on others. I am now enticing him with the alms bowl to free him from the thought of asking, and this will become the cause for him to renounce the world and completely abandon the aggregates. Venerable One, where will this Brahmin boy completely abandon the aggregates?" Monks, in the future, there will appear a Fully Enlightened Buddha who surpasses the level of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, named Mountain King. By hearing the teachings of that Buddha, he will obtain a human body, and by this very cause, he will renounce the world, abandon all defilements, and thus directly realize the state of an Arhat. The Hundred Karmas, Volume Four, the story called "The Gathering Woman". The origin of the story is that the Buddha was residing in Rājagṛha. At that time, in the country of Takṣaśilā, there was a king named Lotus Essence who was ruling. During his reign, the country was rich, prosperous, peaceful, and had good harvests, filled with people and a large population, disputes and battles were pacified, and there were no wars, internal conflicts, thieves, famines, and diseases. It was abundant with rice, sugarcane, cattle, and buffalo. He ruled the country righteously, as if treating an only son with love. Then, he and his queen were playing and enjoying themselves, and the queen became pregnant. A thought arose in her mind that she wanted to debate with those who were proficient in the scriptures. She gave birth to such a child. As soon as the king heard about this, he immediately summoned the diviners.
