འི་ནགས་ཁྲོད་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་ནས་དགེ་སློང་དེས་ཐག་རིང་པོ་ཞིག་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་མཐོང་ངོ་། །མཐོང་ནས་ཀྱང་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་སྟེ་ཕྱིན་ནས། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུའི་རྐང་པ་ལ་མགོ་བོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ་ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་གོ །ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་དགེ་སློང་དེ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །དགེ་སློང་ཁྱོད་ད་གདོད་ག་ལས་འོངས། དགེ་སློང་དེས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་ད་གཟོད་འོད་མའི་ཚལ་བྱ་ཀ་ལན་ད་ཀ་གནས་པ་ནས་མཆིས་སོ། །ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་སྨྲས་པ། བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ཤེས་སམ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་འཚལ་ཏེ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུའི་སྔོན་གྱི་ཁྱིམ་ན་གནས་པའི་ཚེའི་གྲོགས་པོ་ལགས་སོ། །ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་སྨྲས་པ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་གནོད་པ་ཆུང་ངམ། ཉམ་ང་བ་ཉུང་ངམ། བདེ་བ་དང་ལྡན་ནམ། ནད་མེད་དམ། སྟོབས་དང་ལྡན་པར་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ན་གནས་སམ། སྟོན་པ་མཐོང་བར་དགའ་འམ། ཆོས་མཉན་པར་དགའ་འམ། དགེ་སློང་དེས་སྨྲས་པ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ནི་སྟོན་པ་བལྟ་བར་ཡང་དགའ། ཆོས་མཉན་པར་ཡང་དགའ་མོད་ཀྱི། གནོད་པ་དང་ལྡན་ཞིང་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ་ནད་པར་གྱུར་པས་གལ་ཏེ་ན་ནད་དེ་ཁོ་ནས་འཆི་བར་འགྱུར་ཡང་སྲིད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་ཆོས་གོས་སྣམ་སྦྱར་བགོས་ཏེ། བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུའི་ཁྱིམ་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་བ་ལས་བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུས་ཐག་རིང་པོ་ཞིག་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་མཐོང་ངོ་། །མཐོང་ནས་ཀྱང་ཁྲི་ལས་ལྡང་དུ་སྩོལ་ལོ། །དེ་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས། བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ཁྲི་ལས་ལྡང་བར་སྩོལ་བ་མཐོང་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ང་འདུག་པའི་སྟན་གཞན་དག་ཀྱང་ཡོད་ཀྱིས། ཁྱོད་ཁྲི་ལས་མ་ལྡང་ ཅིག་ཅེས་བྱས་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སྟན་བཤམས་པ་ལ་འདུག་གོ །འདུག་ནས་ཀྱང་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་བྲམ་ཟེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ཅི་ཁྱོད་བཟོད་པ་དང་ལྡན་ནམ། འཚོ་འམ། ཅི་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དྲག་པ་དང་། མི་བཟད་པ་དང་། ཚ་བ་དང་། ཡིད་དུ་མི་འོང་བའི་ཚོར་བ་དྲག་པོ་རྣམས་མེད་པར་གྱུར་ཏམ། ཕྱིར་ཐུ་བར་མ་གྱུར་ཏམ། མེད་པར་གྱུར་པར་མངོན་ནམ། ཕྱིས་ཐུ་བར་གྱུར་པར་མི་མངོན་གྲང་། འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་ནི་བཟོད་པ་དང་ལྡན་པ་མ་ཡིན། འཚོ་བ་དང་ལྡན་པ་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། བདག་གི་ལུས་ལ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དྲག་པ་དང་། མི་བཟད་པ་དང་། ཚ་བ་དང་། ཡིད་དུ་མི་འོང་བའི་ཚོར་བ་ཚབས་ཆེན་པོ་དག་གིས་ཐེབས་ཏེ། བདག་གི་ཚོར་བ་དེ་དག་ཕྱིས་ཐུ་ཞིང་ཕྱིས་ན་བར་མངོན་གྱི་མེད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དཔེར་ན་མི་སྟོབས་ཆེ་རབ་ཅིག་གིས་མི་ཉམ་ཆུང་རབ་ཅིག་གི་མགོ་བོ་འབྲེང་བ་བཟང་པོ་རིང་པོས་དམ་དུ་བཅིངས་ན་དེའི་མགོ་བོ་མི་བཟད་པར་ན་བར་འགྱུར་བ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་གི་མགོ་བོ་ལ་ཚོར་བ་མི་བཟད་ཅིང་འདུག་སྟེ། བདག་གི་ཚོར་བ་དེ་དག་ཕྱིས་ཐུ་ཞིང་ཕྱིས་ལ་ན་བར་མངོན་གྱི་མེད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དཔེར་ན་བ་ལང་གསོད་པའམ། བ་ལང་གསོད་པའི་སློབ་མས་བ་ལང་བཤའ་བའི་གྲི་རྣོན་པོས་བ་ལང་གི་ལྟོ་དྲལ་ན་དེའི་ལྟོ་བའི་ཚོར་བ་མི་བཟད་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་གི་ལྟོ་བའི་ནད་མི་བཟད་པར་འདུག་སྟེ་བདག་གི་ཚོར་བ་དེ་དག་ཕྱིས་ཐུ་ཞིང་ཕྱིས་ལ་ན་བར་མངོན་གྱི་མེད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དཔེར་ན་མི་སྟོབས་ཆེ་རབ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་མི་སྟོབས་ཆུང་རབ་ཅིག་དཔུང་པ་གཡས་གཡོན་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ། མེ་མདག་གི་ནང་དུ་སྲེག་པར་བྱེད་ན་དེའི་ལུས་མི་བཟད་པར་ཚ་བར་འགྱུར་བ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་བདག་གི་ལུས་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཚ་ཞིང་འདུག་སྟེ། བདག་གི་ཚོར་བ་དེ་དག་ཕྱིས་ཐུ་ཞིང་ཕྱིས་ལ་ན་བར་མངོན་གྱི་མེད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དེས་ན་བདག་ནི་བཟོད་པ་དང་ལྡན་པ་མ་ཡིན། འཚོ་བ་དང་ལྡན་པ་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། བདག་གི་ལུས་ལ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དྲག་པ་དང་། མི་བཟད་པ་ དང་། ཚ་བ་དང་། ཡིད་དུ་མི་འོང་བའི་ཚོར་བ་ཚབས་ཆེན་པོ་དག་གིས་ཐེབས་ཏེ། བདག་གི་ཚོར་བ་དེ་དག་ཕྱིས་ཐུ་ཞིང་ཕྱིས་ལ་ན་བར་མངོན་གྱི་མེད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་སྨྲས་པ། འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་འོ་ན་ཁྱོད་ཉིད་ལ་དྲི་བར་བྱས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཇི་ལྟར་བཟོད་པ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ལན་ཐོབ་ཤིག །འཛིན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་བུ་ཇི་སྙམ་དུ་སེམས། སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་དང་དུད་འགྲོ་གང་བདམ། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་པས་ནི་དུད་འགྲོ་བདམ་མོ། །དུད་འགྲོ་དང་ཡི་དགས་གང་བདམ། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དུད་འགྲོ་བས་ནི་ཡི་དགས་བདམ་མོ། །ཡི་དགས་དང་མི་གང་བདམ། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ཡི་དགས་པས་ནི་མི་བདམ་མོ། །མི་དང་རྒྱལ་ཆེན་བཞིའི་རིས་

去往那片森林后，那位比丘从远处看见了具寿舍利子。看见后，就去往具寿舍利子所在的地方，到达后，以头顶礼具寿舍利子的双足，然后坐在一旁。坐在一旁后，具寿舍利子对比丘说道：比丘，你刚从哪里来？比丘回答说：尊者舍利子，我刚从住在光明园林迦兰陀迦处来。舍利子说：你认识婆罗门执杖子吗？具寿舍利子，我认识，我是具寿舍利子以前在家时期的朋友。舍利子说：具寿，婆罗门执杖子少恼害吗？少忧恼吗？安乐吗？无病吗？有体力吗？住在王舍城吗？喜欢见到导师吗？喜欢听闻佛法吗？比丘回答说：具寿舍利子，婆罗门执杖子也喜欢见到导师，也喜欢听闻佛法，但是他多恼害且多痛苦，因为生病，如果病情持续，可能会因此而死。之后，具寿舍利子披上袈裟，前往婆罗门执杖子家，婆罗门执杖子从远处看见了具寿舍利子。看见后，请他从床上起来。之后，具寿舍利子看见婆罗门执杖子要从床上起来，就对婆罗门执杖子说：执杖子，还有其他的座位可以让我坐，你不要从床上起来。说完，具寿舍利子就在铺设好的座位上坐下。坐下后，具寿舍利子对婆罗门执杖子说道：执杖子，你还能忍受吗？还能活下去吗？你的剧烈、难忍、灼热、不悦意的强烈感受都消失了吗？没有再次加重吗？看起来是消失了吗？看起来没有再次加重吗？执

Having gone to that forest, that monk saw the Venerable Śāriputra from afar. Having seen him, he went to where the Venerable Śāriputra was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Venerable Śāriputra and sat down to one side. Having sat down to one side, the Venerable Śāriputra said to the monk: "Monk, where have you just come from?" The monk said: "Venerable Śāriputra, I have just come from the place where I dwell in the Kalandaka bird sanctuary in the Light Garden." Śāriputra said: "Do you know the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff?" "Venerable Śāriputra, I know him. I am a friend of the Venerable Śāriputra from the time when he lived at home." Śāriputra said: "Venerable, is the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff free from harm? Is he free from anxiety? Is he happy? Is he free from illness? Does he live in the royal palace with strength? Is he happy to see the Teacher? Is he happy to hear the Dharma?" The monk said: "Venerable Śāriputra, the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff is also happy to see the Teacher and happy to hear the Dharma, but he is full of harm and full of suffering, and because he is sick, if that illness continues, he may die from it." Then the Venerable Śāriputra put on his patchwork robe and went to the house of the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff. The son of the Brahmin who holds the staff saw the Venerable Śāriputra from afar. Having seen him, he asked him to rise from the bed. Then the Venerable Śāriputra, seeing that the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff was about to rise from the bed, said to the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff: "Son who holds the staff, there are other seats for me to sit on, do not rise from the bed." Having said this, the Venerable Śāriputra sat down on the prepared seat. Having sat down, the Venerable Śāriputra said to the son of the Brahmin who holds the staff: "Son who holds the staff, are you able to endure? Are you alive? Have your intense, unbearable, burning, and unpleasant strong feelings disappeared? Have they not increased again? Do they appear to have disappeared? Do they not appear to have increased again?" The

The son of Indrakṛt said: Venerable Śāriputra, I am not able to endure, nor am I able to live. Because my body is afflicted by intense, unbearable, burning, and unpleasant strong feelings, and those feelings of mine have not diminished in the slightest, but have become more and more severe. Venerable Śāriputra, just as if a very strong person were to tightly bind the head of a very weak person with a strong, long rope, that person's head would become unbearably painful, similarly, Venerable Śāriputra, my head is unbearably painful, and those feelings of mine have not diminished in the slightest, but have become more and more severe. Venerable Śāriputra, just as if a butcher or a butcher's apprentice were to cut open the belly of a cow with a sharp butcher's knife, that cow's belly would become unbearably painful, similarly, Venerable Śāriputra, my belly is unbearably painful, and those feelings of mine have not diminished in the slightest, but have become more and more severe. Venerable Śāriputra, just as if two very strong people were to grab a very weak person's left and right arms and burn him in a fire, that person's body would become unbearably hot, similarly, Venerable Śāriputra, my body is very hot, and those feelings of mine have not diminished in the slightest, but have become more and more severe. Venerable Śāriputra, hell beings would rather choose animals. Which do you choose, animals or pretas? Venerable Śāriputra, animals would rather choose pretas. Which do you choose, pretas or humans?
