Having taken rebirth in someone's home, after nine or ten months, a son was born, and a grand birth celebration was held. A name was given according to the family tradition, and he was raised with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of butter. When he grew up, he learned writing, arithmetic, jokes, manual calculation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, the examination of clothes, the examination of gems, the examination of jewels, the examination of incense, the examination of medicine, the examination of elephants, the examination of horses, and the examination of weapons. He became skilled in writing, proficient in reading, intelligent, clear in his actions, broad-minded, and adept in the eight types of examination. Then, one day, he became fond of the Buddha, fond of the Dharma, and fond of the Sangha. He requested his parents and went forth into the teachings of the Bhagavan. After he went forth, at the age of only seven, he abandoned all defilements and directly realized the state of an Arhat, becoming great in magical power and great in strength. Then, he traveled by means of magical power, going to various places, and putting flowers and fruits into leaves, he would bring them back and offer them to the Sangha. Then, the monks saw him and were amazed. They said to the Bhagavan: "Venerable one, look at this novice who went forth at the age of seven, he has abandoned all defilements and directly realized the state of an Arhat." Then, the Bhagavan, in order to generate weariness in them, said: "At some time, did you see a bird descend from the sky and sit before me?" The monks replied: "Venerable one, Bhagavan, we saw it." The Bhagavan said: "Monks, that bird, having become joyful towards me, went away and was killed by a hawk. Because of its joy towards me, it died and was reborn in this Rajagriha, into the family of a merchant. When he grew up, he went forth into my teachings. After he went forth, at the age of only seven, he abandoned all defilements and directly realized the state of an Arhat." Then, the monks to the Buddha

The following was requested to the Bhagavan: What karma did this monastic novice commit? What is the maturation of that karma that he was born as a bird? What karma did he commit that he died from that and was born as a human? O Bhagavan, he also pleased you and did not displease you. Having become ordained in the Bhagavan's teachings, he abandoned all afflictions and directly realized the state of an Arhat. The Bhagavan said: Monks, in the past, in the city of Varanasi in the land of Kashi, King Brahma-datta reigned. In the land of Videha, King Videha reigned. The two of them were not in harmony with each other, causing many ordinary people to quarrel. Then, later, the King of Videha mustered an army of four divisions and marched towards King Brahma-datta for battle. King Brahma-datta of Kashi also heard that the King of Videha had mustered an army of four divisions and was marching towards him for battle. Having heard this, he also mustered an army of four divisions and marched towards the King of Videha for battle. As a result, the King of Videha overcame and struck him, causing him to be defeated and turn his back to flee. The king alone escaped and entered a forest. He was exhausted and suffering physically, his body became drenched, so he dismounted from his horse, took off his armor and battle garments, and sat down on something spread on the ground. Not far from that place, a peacock was surrounded by peahens, playing and enjoying themselves, happy and delighted. He saw this and became envious, thinking: This one enjoys desires and there is no one to harm it, this place of birth is good. At times when the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, do not reside, solitary Buddhas appear in the world. A solitary Buddha, not far from that king, was dwelling under a tree, and in order to tame him, he made the sound of clearing his throat. Then, as soon as he heard that sound, the king became frightened and stood up, thinking: Here too there are enemies.
