The two, through honoring the stupa and making prayers, the ripening of that karma caused them to be born wherever they were born, into wealthy, rich, and prosperous families. Relying solely on this son, these two pleased me and did not displease me. I renounced in his teachings, abandoned all defilements, and directly realized the state of an Arhat. Furthermore, in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light-Protector, all three of these also renounced. There, these practiced celibacy for a lifetime, fully matured their faculties, and therefore, now they have become liberated. The Hundred Karmas, Volume Nineteen. The one called "Born with a God": In the land of Serkya, a king named Lion-Jaw is king. In the land called Lha-thong, a king named Leg-tok is king, and the two are friendly and intimate. Then, King Lion-Jaw wished: "Alas, if a Chakravartin king were to arise in my lineage, how wonderful it would be!" Then, gradually, four sons were born to him: Shuddhodana, Rice-Food, Nectar-Food, and White-Food. Four daughters were also born: Pure-Woman, Rice-Woman, Nectar-Woman, and White-Woman. Then, King Leg-tok wished: "Alas, if I could become related to Lion-Jaw, how wonderful it would be!" Then, he also played and rejoiced with his queen, and a son was born, and he named him Born-with-a-God. Then, when he grew up, he had the boy taught to read. Among the royal lineages, the kings who were empowered from the crown of their heads had different places of craftsmanship and different places of work, such as: riding elephants, riding horses, holding weapons, throwing forward, throwing backward, how to act in battle, holding iron hooks, holding ropes, shooting large arrows, throwing single-pointed vajras, stabbing single-pointed weapons, throwing wheels, cutting, splitting, holding with hands, footwork, protecting the head, far away

Throwing stones, throwing objects that make sounds, throwing at vital points, ensuring not to be eaten by spirits while hitting the target, and throwing forcefully were all learned and mastered, becoming proficient in five areas, unmatched by anyone else in the world. Then, one day, King Lek-tok had two daughters, one named Illusion, and the other named Great Illusion. These two princesses were prophesied by Brahmins skilled in divination: one would give birth to a Chakravartin king, and the other would give birth to a young man with auspicious signs. Upon hearing these prophecies, King Zang-tsang took them both as his consorts. Later, the Bodhisattva passed away from the Tushita heaven and was conceived in his mother's womb. After nine or ten months of pregnancy, a prince was born. When the prince grew up, he began to study writing and became proficient in it. He also understood all the treatises. He also mastered dancing, singing, and the sounds of all kinds of musical instruments. Then, King Zang-tsang thought: Now it is necessary to teach the prince archery. So he asked the Shakya people: Who is the best archery teacher here? Who should he learn from so that the prince can learn archery? The Shakya people replied: O God, let alone other archery teachers, the son of King Lek-tok, named Lhar-che, is the best archery teacher, and there is no one in the world who can compare to him. Upon hearing this, King Zang-tsang immediately sent a messenger to summon Lhar-che and said to him: Lhar-che, you teach this prince archery. Lhar-che replied: I will do as the gods intend. So he began to teach the prince archery. He taught the Bodhisattva everything that should be taught, and the Bodhisattva learned everything. The Bodhisattva also taught Lhar-che some methods that Lhar-che did not understand. Then, Lhar-che saw the Bodhisattva's diligence and unprecedented methods and was very surprised. He took those archery methods as his teacher and learned from the Bodhisattva. When the Bodhisattva grew older,

Having seen the old, the sick, and the dead. When he settled in the forest, Lharje went to Vaishali and stayed there, and the people of Vaishali gave him five hundred youths, saying, "Teach these youths these five positions." Then, before long, he taught the five hundred youths how to throw, and they became proficient in the five positions. Then they became so arrogant, thinking, "No one is equal to us in appearance, strength, and knowledge, let alone superior." Then Lharje said to them, "Children, do not be arrogant! You are not even equal to the dust on the feet of the youth born among the Shakyas, let alone equal in appearance, strength, or knowledge." Then, as soon as they heard this, they wanted to see the youth, saying, "Let us go and see that youth!" Then Lharje said, "That youth has settled in the forest, and now you will not see him." Then, in the meantime, the Blessed One accomplished the task of taming beings and gradually went to Vaishali. Then, Lharje, having heard this, told the youths. As soon as they heard this, the five hundred youths were very eager to see him, and together with Lharje, they went to where the Blessed One was. The five hundred youths saw the Blessed One, beautiful and pleasing, with subdued senses, a peaceful mind, supremely gentle, completely pacified, and endowed with the splendor and glory blazing like a golden stupa. Having seen this, their arrogance of appearance disappeared. They thought, "He is far superior to us in appearance, but not necessarily in strength." Then, they went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat before him. Then, the Blessed One thought, "I must break their pride." Then, the Blessed One generated a worldly thought: "Alas, the lord of the gods, Indra, has taken up his bow and arrow to shoot me."
