In a spacious place, because he possessed great wealth, he piled up fragrant wood and cremated his relics. Then, in order to prevent others from taking his relics, some Chandalas (gdo l pa) were appointed as guards not far from where the relics were placed. Those Chandalas were sleeping in that place, and one of the Chandalas was carried away by a tiger, and another Chandala felt fear and dread, and recited, "I prostrate to the Buddha." Due to the power of the Buddha, he was protected by the gods. Afterwards, when the king of Kosala built a stupa for the relics of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Vipashyin, after everything was completely completed, when the festival was held, that Chandala thought: That I am alive, in any case, is due to the power of the Buddha, the Bhagavan. Thinking this, he paid great respect to the stupa and made a vow, saying: Alas! May this root of virtue cause me to please a teacher exactly like this (stupa), may I not displease him. May I only ordain in that teacher's teaching, abandon all defilements, and realize the state of Arhat. Monks, what do you think? That Chandala at that time was none other than this son of a Chandala. Because he paid respect to the stupa and made a vow, monks, I attained the Fully Enlightened Buddha Vipashyin, and attained complete equality, equality of power, equality of deeds, and equality of means. He pleased me, did not displease me, and ordained in my own teaching, abandoned all defilements, and realized the state of Arhat. Furthermore, after ordaining in the teaching of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Krakucchanda, he became a quarrelsome and inarticulate monk. There he became angry with many monks and said the word "Chandala," and later he felt remorse, so he asked those monks for forgiveness, and although he practiced celibacy for a lifetime, he did not gain any merit, and at the time of death he made a vow: Fully Enlightened

May I please that Blessed One, the Buddha 'Od-srung, who was prophesied by the Buddha 'Od-srung to the Brahmin boy Lama, and may I not displease him. Having gone forth into his teachings, having abandoned all defilements, may I realize the state of an Arhat. O monks, what do you think? The monk who went forth into the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha 'Od-srung at that time was none other than this Candala boy. As a result of the ripening of the karma of calling many monks Candala there, he was born into the Candala caste for five hundred lifetimes. Having practiced celibacy in one lifetime, he made a prayer at the time of death: May I please that Blessed One, the Buddha 'Od-srung, who was prophesied by the perfectly enlightened Buddha 'Od-srung to the Brahmin boy Lama, and may I not displease him. Having gone forth into his teachings, having abandoned all defilements, may I realize the state of an Arhat. O monks, as a result of the ripening of that karma, I have attained the same perfect enlightenment as the Buddha 'Od-srung, the same power, the same deeds, and the same means. This one has pleased me, has not displeased me, and having gone forth into my teachings, has abandoned all defilements and realized the state of an Arhat. As for the one called Rab-bzang: There was a charioteer of King Zasak, named Rab-bzang. He took a wife by means of a trick. He played with her, rejoiced, and enjoyed himself, but he had no son. Because he wanted a son, he prayed to the god Gulang, the water god, Kubera, Indra, Brahma, and so on, as well as the gods of the monastery, the gods of the forest, the gods of the crossroads, the gods of the three-way intersections, the gods who take offerings, the gods who are born together, the gods who are in accordance with the Dharma, and the gods who always follow. Even though he took to heart praying in this way, he had neither a son nor a daughter. At that time, when the Bodhisattva was born,

At that time, the soothsayers prophesied: "If he remains at home, he will become a Chakravartin king. If he shaves his hair and beard, puts on colored robes, and goes forth from home to homelessness with pure faith alone, then in the world he will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly enlightened Buddha, renowned and possessing fame." Upon hearing this prophecy, the charioteer Rabzang immediately felt great suffering, thinking: "If I had a son, he would become a young charioteer, and in that way the lineage of charioteers would not be cut off." So, he engaged even more in praying to the various deities. At that time, the Bodhisattva, having seen an old man, a sick person, and a dead person, settled in the forest. He went there and practiced austerities for six years. After practicing austerities there for six years, he accepted milk-rice mixed with honey, which had been condensed sixteen times, from the daughters of the Serika villagers, Gama and Gato. Then, he accepted grass from the grass-seller Tashi Den. Then, the Naga king Nakpo praised him, and the Bodhisattva went to the Bodhi tree. He himself spread out the grasses without scattering them. Then, he sat in the lotus position, thinking firmly: "I will not break this lotus position until I have attained unsurpassed wisdom." There, he subdued thirty-six million of Mara's retinue of demons and attained unsurpassed, perfect, and complete wisdom. Then, urged by Brahma, he repeated it three times in Varanasi, and in twelve ways properly turned the wheel of Dharma, and ordained the five ascetics. Then, he established the five close ascetics, the sixty paternal relatives of Sangye, the fifty chief children of the village, and the two brothers Gama and Gato in the truth. He ordained the two brothers Tenggye Wosung and Chuklung Wosung, went to Gaya, subdued them with three kinds of miracles, and then went to the reed forest, and together with King Zukchen Nyingpo of eighty thousand gods, and the Brahmins and thousands of householders of the land of Magadha, he established them in the truth. After that,
