In the time of that long-lived one, (people learned) writing, the conduct and behavior of Brahmins, and the (mantras) called Om (藏文:ༀ་,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) and Bho (藏文:བྷོ་,梵文天城体:भो,梵文罗马拟音:bho,汉语字面意思:布), as well as cleanliness, rituals, taking ashes, holding pills, explaining the Vedas, sacrificing Vedas, poetic Vedas, governing Vedas, and performing sacrifices and making people perform sacrifices, giving and receiving, reciting and teaching people to recite. He became a Brahmin proficient in six kinds of activities, and eventually became proficient in eighteen kinds of knowledge. Later, his father became very happy with the Buddha, very happy with the Dharma and the Sangha, so he took refuge in the Three Jewels and kept the precepts. Later, he died and was reborn in the heavenly realm. That Brahmin's son was very sad, crying and wailing, beating his chest and crying out "Father! Father!", wandering around. Later, his father felt it, came to him and said, "Son, I no longer need to be sad, don't be sad." The son asked, "Who are you?" He said, "I am your father." The son asked, "Where were you reborn?" He said, "Reborn in the heavenly realm." The son asked, "What deeds did you do?" He said, "I served the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Sound King Tathagata, and I kept the refuge and the precepts. Now you should not be sad for me, but be sad for yourself, go and take refuge in the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Sound King Tathagata, and all your good deeds will arise from that." After speaking, the Deva disappeared. That Brahmin's son also listened to his father's words, and became a monk under the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Sound King Tathagata. He practiced celibacy for one lifetime, and at the time of death he made a wish: Although I have practiced celibacy for one lifetime under the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Sound King Tathagata, I have not obtained any accumulation of merit, may I become the Brahmin's son prophesied by the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Sound King Tathagata, and become the Tathagata Bhagavan.

May the departed one please me, may he not displease me. May I, having renounced in that very doctrine, abandon all defilements and realize the state of an Arhat. Monks, what do you think? At that time, the father of the Brahmin boy was this very Brahmin. He who was the son at that time was this very son. At that time, he, relying on his father, gained faith and practiced celibacy for one lifetime. Now also, he, relying on that same father, has gained faith, and having renounced in my doctrine, has abandoned all defilements and realized the state of an Arhat. Summary verse three. The Hundred Deeds. Volume Fourteen. The one called Kokalika: The origin resides in Rajagriha. At that time, the venerable Kokalika resided in the forest of the fearful mother's garden on Mount Sabkangri. The Brahmins and householders residing on Mount Sabkangri revered him, regarded him as a guru, treated him like a painting, and made offerings to him. He obtained robes, food, bedding, mats, medicine for the sick, and medicinal goods. He used all these provisions to attend to all the monks who came there. At that time, the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, while wandering, went to Mount Sabkangri and stayed in the forest of the fearful mother's garden. Then the monk Kokalika heard that the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, while wandering, had gone to Mount Sabkangri and were staying in the forest of the fearful mother's garden. Having heard this, he went to where the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana were, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the monk Kokalika said to the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana: Venerable ones, I will attend to you both with all provisions. Please live in peace. The two said: Venerable one, this Sabkangri is very frightening.
