, bowing his head to the feet of the Bhagavan. He sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One, knowing his thoughts, predispositions, faculties, consciousness, and nature, taught him the Dharma accordingly. Therefore, that son of the gods who had previously been a Brahmin, with the vajra of wisdom, shattered the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates, and directly realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, he bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and disappeared from before the Blessed One. He saw that son sitting in the cemetery, extremely sad, crying out in pain, beating his chest, and wailing, "Father! Father!" wandering around. Having seen this, he went to the son and said: Son, I have become free from sorrow, do not grieve too much for me. The son said: Who are you? The son of the gods said: I am your father. The son said: Where were you born? The son of the gods said: Born in the realm of the gods. The son said: What deeds did you do? The son of the gods said: I revered the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, and took refuge and protected the foundations of training. Son, do not grieve for me, you should grieve for yourself, go and take refuge in the Blessed One, and from that all your happiness will arise. Having said this, the son of the gods immediately disappeared and went to the gods of the Thirty-Three. That Brahmin boy also listened to his father's words, abandoned his sorrow for his father, and developed joy towards the Blessed One, and went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One, and sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One, knowing his thoughts, predispositions, faculties, consciousness, and nature, taught him the Dharma accordingly. Therefore, that Brahmin shattered the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and directly realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, he rose from his seat.

Then he draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and, with his palms joined together, bowed down in the direction of the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: 'Venerable sir, if I could go forth and receive the full ordination in the Dharma and Discipline well-spoken by you, and obtain the state of a bhikṣu, then I would also like to practice the pure conduct in the presence of the Blessed One.' Then, the Blessed One ordained him with the words, 'Come, bhikṣu,' and conferred the full ordination upon him, and also gave him a prediction. He also, through diligence, practice, and effort, abandoned all defilements, and directly realized the state of an arhat. That arhat, having become free from the desire of the three realms, possessing a mind that is equal between gold and rubble, like the sky and the palm of the hand, having become cool like sandalwood soaked in water, having shattered the shell of the egg with wisdom, having obtained wisdom, supernormal powers, and individual perfect knowledge, not looking at the gains, attachments, and honors of existence, became an object of worship, remembrance, respect, and praise by the gods, including the powerful ones and their attendants. Then, the bhikṣus said to the Blessed One: 'Venerable sir, please see, this unbelieving son of a Brahmin was placed by his father in complete faith, and after he went forth, he pleased the Blessed One and did not displease him, and having abandoned all defilements, he directly realized the state of an arhat.' The Blessed One declared: 'It is not only now, but also in the past, how this son of a Brahmin was placed by his father in complete faith from unbelief, and how he went forth and practiced the pure conduct in one lifetime,
