I am the teacher of men. The Buddha Bhagavan named Light Protector was born into the world, and with faith in his teachings, he renounced the world. After becoming a monk, he urged many patrons and donors to donate for the sake of the Sangha and stupas. However, he was unable to properly manage the property of the Sangha, the property of the stupas, the daily offerings, and the property of the Sangha of the four directions. Instead, he used everything as he pleased and distributed it to others. Therefore, he was expelled from the Sangha, and because he himself used and distributed as he pleased, the ripening of this action caused him to be born as a hungry ghost. There, he was eaten by creatures living in the sky, in the water, and on the land. Then, as soon as many people heard this, they developed great disgust. The Blessed One, realizing that their minds were disgusted, taught the Dharma accordingly. Therefore, some generated warmth. Some generated patience in accordance with the peak and truth, as well as the supreme of worldly Dharma and the absorption of seeing the path. Some realized the fruit of stream-entry. Some realized the fruit of once-returning. Some realized the fruit of non-returning. Some, after renouncing the world, realized the state of Arhatship. Some planted the seeds to become a Chakravartin king in the future. Some planted the seeds to become a Chakravartin of power in the future, some planted the seeds to become Indra in the future, some planted the seeds to become Brahma in the future, some planted the seeds of the Bodhi of a Shravaka, some planted the seeds of the Bodhi of a Pratyekabuddha, and some planted the seeds of the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhi. Among those retinues, most were arranged to take refuge in the Buddha, take refuge in the Dharma, and take refuge in the Sangha. The story called Delightful Freedom: The story took place while residing in Shravasti. The venerable Delightful Freedom habitually wandered in the hells of sentient beings, wandered among the pretas, and wandered among the animals.

wanders in the intermediate state. He wanders among humans. He wanders among the gods. Having returned, he tells people about the sufferings of sentient beings in hell, such as cutting, severing, beating, and cooking. Having returned, he tells of the sufferings of the hungry ghosts, such as hunger, thirst, burning, scorching, and cooking, and the sufferings of animals caused by eating each other, the sufferings of humans from quarrels and exhaustion, and the sufferings of the gods from death, falling, disintegration, and destruction. He tells those to the people, and when they hear it, they become disgusted, and having become disgusted, they also gain further distinction. Then, one day, the venerable Delightful One set out to wander among the hungry ghosts, and having disappeared from Shravasti, he went to the seashore. There he saw a naked female hungry ghost, covering herself with her own hair, like a tree touched by fire, and she was blind. Many worms emerged from her mouth and nose, and she filled a yojana with the smell. They ran back and forth, and wherever she went, she was tormented by blue-spotted dogs, so she experienced intense, unbearable, hot, and unpleasant feelings. He saw something making a loud noise and running back and forth. Having seen it, the venerable Delightful One thought, "What karma did this being do?" He saw that she had gone forth in the teaching of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, and had become a quarrelsome and foul-mouthed nun. There she had falsely accused many nuns and obstructed their offerings. Then the venerable Delightful One thought, "Although I have seen the result of this karma with my own eyes, I should report it to the Blessed One in order to arouse disgust in more people." So he disappeared from the seashore and went to Shravasti. At that time, the Blessed One was sitting in the midst of hundreds of thousands of attendants, teaching the Dharma. Then the venerable
