It is not so, that karma makes one rich and stingy. What karma does this person have that makes them rich and stingy? For that person, what karma is there that makes one poor and generous? What is that? For this person, some people give a lot of charity to animals and non-returning beings. When they are born as humans, they will be poor and generous, because they are used to giving charity in the past, so even if they are poor, they will be generous. This refers to the person who has what karma that makes them poor and generous. For that person, what karma is there? There will be karma that makes one rich and generous, what is that? For this person, some people have given a lot of charity to those who have discipline and have become places of charity. The mind is accustomed to giving, so that karma makes him born as a human, and he will become rich and enjoy abundantly, like a householder giving food to the helpless. He offered the garden of King Victory to the perfectly enlightened one who dispelled false beliefs, and built a temple. Similarly, offering gold bricks to the perfectly enlightened Buddhas Golden Sage, Kashyapa, Sarvarthasidda, and Maitreya, this refers to the person who has what karma that makes them rich and generous. For some people, life is exhausted but karma is not exhausted, what is that? Some people, after their life ends in hell, are born in hell again; after their life ends in animals, they are born in animals again; after their life ends in the realm of Yama, they are born in the realm of Yama again; after their life ends in the heavens, they are born in the heavens again; The Brahmin Vaisyakara also repeatedly ended his life and was born as a monkey; just like the householder mentioned earlier was born as livestock again and again. When residing in Shravasti, a poor householder died, and there was a hunchbacked ox at his doorstep. That householder, because his mind was attached to his family, ended his life and was born as a worm on the back of that ox. As soon as he was born, he was eaten by a crow, and he was born as a worm there again. Like this, he ended his life and was born seven times in the same day, and the son of the venerable Maudgalyayana

One day, Maudgalyayana went to Magadha to beg for alms and arrived at the door of a house. In that house, there was a female householder with a child in her arms. She was eating fish and rice, and in front of her was a black dog to whom she was throwing fish bones. Then, the householder saw the great son of Maudgalyayana and said, "Venerable one, there is no one here who gives alms to beggars, please return." After saying this, he returned. At the door of that house, there was a learned man who had come from another country and had been waiting there. When he saw him, he was amazed and said, "Alas, this monk is the best of those with magical powers! He subdued the dragon kings Nanda (藏文:དགའ་བོ་,梵文天城体:नन्द,梵文罗马拟音:Nanda,汉语字面意思:Joyful) and Upananda (藏文:ཉེར་དགའ་བོ་,梵文天城体:उपनन्द,梵文罗马拟音:Upananda,汉语字面意思:Near Joyful). He also shook the palace of the gods, Sudarshana (梵文:सुदर्शन,梵文罗马拟音:Sudarśana,汉语字面意思:Good to see), with the thumb of his left hand, and even Indra (梵文:इन्द्र,梵文罗马拟音:Indra,汉语字面意思:Indra) was amazed. He can circle the three thousand great thousand worlds with just a blink of an eye. It is very strange that you sent him back without offering him alms." Then, in order to make those people feel ashamed, the Venerable One said, "Young man, it is not so strange." The man asked, "Then, what is truly strange?" He said, "The householder here is eating fish and rice, and that fish is actually her father. Because there is a pond behind this house with many fish, her father used to catch and eat those fish. After he died, he was reborn into those fish. And her son has caught and eaten those fish hundreds of times, so he is reborn here again and again. And that black dog is actually the householder's mother. She was controlled by desire and did not give alms to anyone, nor did she keep the precepts, but guarded her possessions for the sake of her lineage. After she died, she was attached to this house and was reborn as that dog. After she died, she was reborn here again and again. She is also afraid that others will enter this house, so she patrols around the house every night. And the child that man is holding is actually the illegitimate child of his wife. Because this householder heard that his wife was having an affair with another man, he pretended to go to another village and came out of the house. And that woman also with other men...
