Free from craving for existence and non-existence, the monk overcomes existence and passes completely into nirvana without remainder. Whoever is employed by this woman of craving, which is difficult to abandon in the world, his sorrow will increase, like rain falling on grass. Whoever abandons this woman of craving, which is difficult to abandon in the world, his sorrow will cease, like water droplets on a lotus. Therefore, whoever comes here, I say to you, may you be happy, like the roots of Ushira grass, pull out craving with its roots and grass. If a man is accompanied by craving, he will wander in the world for a long time, having pulled out craving by the roots, he will have no sorrow and no fear and attain bliss. Again and again clinging and taking rebirth, again and again entering the womb, beings come and go in the cycle of existence due to momentary changes and other changes. Here, abandon that craving which is difficult to abandon, and cut off its seed, he will be without craving, and he will not revolve again. Do not let these days pass in vain, among the gods and humans, binding and binding all sentient beings, one should conquer that object of craving. Even if sentient beings are born in hell, they will regret wasting their leisure and opportunity for the rest of their lives, therefore, the cause of the ocean of existence, the object of craving is the basis of the fruit. Like a vine covering a net, if the pains that cause suffering are not subdued, these sufferings will again and again, in all forms, not turn back. Just as if a tree is not pulled out by its roots, even if it is cut down, it will only grow back in the field, so if the subtle growth of craving is not pulled out, suffering will not cease again and again. Just as a weapon made by oneself, with the power of a thief kills oneself, so the craving arising from the inner mind brings sentient beings closer to killing. Thus, knowing the faults of craving arising from all sufferings, one should know the faults that arise, abandon craving and do not take it again, the mindful monk always walks. The third chapter on craving is complete. Mindfulness is the place of immortality, carelessness is the place of death, the mindful do not die, the careless always die. Knowing the difference between them, the wise are always mindful, they rejoice greatly in the mindful, they rejoice in the realm of the noble ones.

For this, constantly cultivate, always suppress others and be stable, with stability achieving supreme bliss, which is touching Nirvana. When the wise destroy carelessness with diligence, at that time, ascending the tower of wisdom, with no worries, along with the worried, and the stable ones, from the top of the mountain, they look at the children on the ground. With diligence and mindfulness, and correct discipline and taming, the wise, having made an island, can block the great river. Possessing diligence and mindfulness, conduct is pure and acting after observing, correct discipline and living by the Dharma, the fame of the diligent greatly increases. Be mindful of the higher mind, learn the abilities of the capable. Those who are near peace and always mindful, their protection is the one without sorrow. Do not rely on inferior Dharma, do not rely on the careless, have no desire for wrong views, and do not increase worldly affairs. The correct view of worldly people, if a great person possesses it, then even in thousands of lifetimes, they will not fall into the lower realms. Associating with the careless, beings lose their minds like children, just as a merchant protects wealth, the wise should have a cautious mind. Do not associate with the careless, do not like desires, etc., those who are always mindful, will obtain the exhaustion of defilements. Even if the exhaustion of defilements is not obtained, one should not be careless at this time, like a lion that is not a deer, the careless will be killed. The careless one who relies on another's wife, these four situations will arise in this person's mind: not obtaining merit, not sleeping peacefully, thirdly being slandered, and fourthly falling into hell. Not obtaining merit, going to sinful places, fear and shame together, little happiness, will be cut off by the king's great punishment, the body will be destroyed, and suffering in the hells of sentient beings. Whoever wants to see their own happiness, they should act as above. Like a child's wooden cart, the stable one should not weaken diligence. For example, a child's wooden cart, abandoning the good great road, walking on the bad road, like a blind eye and a destroyed mind. Likewise, after abandoning the Dharma, if one follows non-Dharma, such a child will fall into the hands of the Lord of Death.
