Knowing the exhaustion of actions, whoever is without sin is a Brahmin. Having killed father and mother, and the two kings who perform purification, having destroyed the land together with its retinue, whoever is without sin is a Brahmin. Having killed father and mother, and the two kings who possess purification, having killed the unpleasant tiger, whoever is without sin is a Brahmin. Whoever foolishly strikes a Brahmin, that one who drives away is evil, one should not strike Brahmins, one should not drive away Brahmins. Whoever thoroughly knows the dharmas, whether old or young, one should respect and prostrate to him, a pure Brahmin is like fire. Whoever thoroughly knows the dharmas, whether old or young, one should respect and attend to him, a pure Brahmin is like fire. Whoever thoroughly knows the dharmas taught by the perfect Buddha, one should respect and prostrate to him, a pure Brahmin is like fire. Whoever thoroughly knows the dharmas taught by the perfect Buddha, one should respect and attend to him, a pure Brahmin is like fire. When a Brahmin has gone to the other shore of the dharmas, at that time the meat-eater Kula, is far beyond even the solitary one. When a Brahmin has gone to the other shore of the dharmas, at that time all that he sees and feels, becomes the very nature of cessation. When a Brahmin has gone to the other shore of the dharmas, at that time by what he sees, all conditions cease. When a Brahmin has gone to the other shore of the dharmas, at that time by what he sees, all bonds cease. When a Brahmin has gone to the other shore of the dharmas, at that time he has gone far beyond birth, old age, and death. The sun illuminates the day, the moon shines at night, the Kshatriya shines with armor, the Brahmin shines when meditating. The sun illuminates the day, the moon shines at night, the Buddha always has splendor, illuminates day and night. Just as aversion arises from the impure, so there is little of that among the Brahmins. As, as his aversion arises, so, so conventional truth is exhausted. When a Brahmin meditates diligently, by what does he thoroughly know the dharmas together with their causes?
