I say he is a Brahmin. Like mud obscuring the sky, and dust obscuring the moon, who has completely abandoned the delight in existence, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever dwells, free from defilement, has stilled his mind and done the deed of ending defilements, who is tamed and dwells at the edge of his body, I say he is a Brahmin. Whose wisdom is deep and mind is composed, who is skilled in paths and non-paths, whoever has attained the supreme meaning, I say he is a Brahmin. Whatever person it may be, who lives only by begging, and does not harm anyone without an owner, who possesses steadfast conduct, who teaches the Dharma for the sake of understanding all, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever has well abandoned desire, has gone forth homeless, and has completely exhausted the defilements of desire, I say he is a Brahmin. Who does not cut off living beings, whether moving or stationary, by destruction, who does not kill or cause to kill, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever makes the discordant harmonious, and gladly accepts cutting off by destruction, who has love and benefit for beings, I say he is a Brahmin. Like a mustard seed on the tip of a blade of grass, whoever destroys lust, hatred, and the conceit of concealment, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever has completely crossed over this fortress of craving, and crossed over the river of samsara, and having crossed over, thinks of going to the other shore, who does not mix with the mind itself, whoever has turned away from taking, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever has no craving in this world or the next, and has completely exhausted the craving for existence, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever has no attachment to this world or the next, and is completely separated from attachment, I say he is a Brahmin. Having abandoned joy and displeasure, having become cool and without defilements, who subdues all the world and is steadfast, I say he is a Brahmin. Having abandoned human association, having completely transcended divine association, and being completely separated from all associations, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever does not know the paths of gods, gandharvas, and humans, and does not know the path of peace, I say he is a Brahmin. Whoever has nothing that he does not know or has not seen among all phenomena, who has an endless view of knowable things, Bra
