Now, when people are touched only by suffering and discomfort, they recall the previous letters, words, and phrases, saying, "Alas, woe is me! Alas, woe is me!" Similarly, when the essence of the land of those beings disappears, they gather together and say, "Delicious, alas! Delicious, alas!" They utter cries, become sad and suffer, but they do not understand that the meaning of what is said is this, the meaning of what is said is this. Gautama, when the essence of the land of those beings disappears, a grove of sprouts will appear, its color perfect, its scent perfect, its taste perfect, and its color is like this: for example, like the flower of the Kadamba tree. The taste is like this: for example, like squeezing the honey from a honeycomb. They eat those things, and by eating those things as food, they live long and endure for a long time. Among them, those who eat the least food become radiant. Those who eat the most food become ugly in color. Depending on the two amounts of food, two kinds of colors appear. Because there are two kinds of colors, beings say to beings, "Hey, being, I am radiant, and you are ugly in color." Beings will despise each other. Those who are arrogant with the manifestation of color, because of taking up sinful and unwholesome dharmas, the grove of sprouts disappears. Gautama, when the grove of sprouts disappears, those beings gather together and say, "Go away from the front! Go away from the front!" They utter cries, become sad and suffer. For example, now when people want to severely punish someone, they repeat the previous letters, words, and phrases, saying, "Go away from the front! Go away from the front!" Similarly, when the grove of sprouts of those beings disappears, they gather together and say, "Go away from the front! Go away from the front!" They utter cries, become sad and suffer, but they do not understand that the meaning of what is said is this, the meaning of what is said is this.

Its meaning is unknown. Gautama, after the grove of sprouts of those beings disappeared, rice that was not plowed or sown, four-colored rice, without husks, without bran, without chaff, pure and clean, grew. If harvested at night, it would grow and ripen during the day. If harvested during the day, it would grow and ripen at night. Even though harvested and harvested again, it would not be apparent that it had been harvested because it grew again. They would eat that rice and live long and abide for a long time. From where did those beings gradually eat the rice that was not plowed or sown as a mouthful of food? From then on, their faculties became different. Some had the faculties of males, and some had the faculties of females. Then, those who had the faculties of females and those who had the faculties of males would look at each other with their eyes. As they looked at each other with their eyes, they would become completely attached. As they became completely attached, they would become attached. As they became attached, they would engage in misconduct. Other beings would also see beings engaging in misconduct with beings. Having seen this, they would throw earth, clods, tiles, and pebbles, and say: "Evil beings, you are doing what should not be done! Evil beings, you are doing what should not be done! Hey! Being, how do you now disgust beings?" For example, when people now take a bride, they throw flour, scents, garlands, clothes, and rice grains and say: "May the bride be happy!" Similarly, when beings see beings engaging in misconduct, they throw earth, clods, tiles, and pebbles, and say: "Evil beings, you are doing what should not be done! Evil beings, you are doing what should not be done! Hey! Being, how do you now disgust beings?" That is the time to say these things. Gautama, in this way, what was previously considered not Dharma and what was previously considered not Vinaya is now considered Dharma.
