like being surrounded by a retinue of 's. like being surrounded by a thousand sons of a wheel-turning king. like the moon being surrounded by a multitude of stars. like the sun being surrounded by a thousand rays of light. like being surrounded by a retinue of Dhritarashtra gandharvas. like being surrounded by a retinue of holy-born youths. the retinue of the dragon with unkind eyes like being surrounded by. like being surrounded by a retinue of Vaishravana yakshas. like being surrounded by a retinue of Takshasa asuras. like being surrounded by a retinue of Indra's thirty-three gods. like being surrounded by a retinue of Brahma's brahma hosts. like the unmoving ocean. like clouds with water. like a tamed elephant free from arrogance, the senses are extremely subdued, and the conduct is not disturbed. the body is adorned with the thirty-two marks of a great man. the eighty minor marks have adorned it. the body adorned with a fathom of light has light surpassing a thousand rays of sunlight. like a moving mountain of jewels, everything is beautiful. possessing the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the three unmixed mindfulnesses, and great compassion. together with the great community of monks, he went to the Rohita River. King Shuddhodana heard that the youth Sarvarthasiddha had gone to the Rohita River. having heard this, King Shuddhodana cleared away the stones, tiles, and gravel from the foundation of the city of Kapilavastu, and sprinkled it with sandalwood water. he arranged extremely fragrant incense burners. he hung many silk ribbons. the road from the Rohita River to the Nyagrodha Park was made very beautiful. in a wide and spacious place, he had various colored cushions arranged. then, at the Rohita River, some monks washed their hands. some discarded toothpicks. some bathed. the Shakyas living in Kapilavastu heard that the youth Sarvarthasiddha had arrived. having heard this, some were moved by the roots of previous virtues. some were amazed and all came out of the Nyagrodha Park.

Should the son pay homage to the father's feet? Or should we watch the father pay homage to the son's feet? Then, the Blessed One thought thus: 'If I were to go on foot to the land of Kapilavastu (now in Nepal), the arrogant Shakyas would say: 'Alas, young Siddhartha has accomplished all his goals, gone to the forest of asceticism, and looks like a starving ghost.' Like that, thousands upon thousands of people serve him, he descends from the sky, he spent thousands upon thousands of austerities to obtain nectar, and I am going on foot,' they would thus give rise to disbelief. Then, the Blessed One entered into meditative equipoise. He manifested in the sky above the east and performed four kinds of conduct, namely walking, standing, sitting, and lying down. He also entered into the fire samadhi. When he entered into the fire samadhi, various kinds of rays of light emanated from the body of the Buddha Blessed One, namely blue, yellow, red, white, light green, and the color of crystal. He also showed the twin miracle, causing fire to blaze from the lower part of his body and causing a stream of cold water to descend from the upper part of his body, causing fire to blaze from the upper part of his body and causing a stream of cold water to descend from the lower part of his body, and thus he entered into samadhi. Just as in the east, so also in the south, west, and north. After showing four kinds of miracles in the four directions, he gathered up the manifestation of miracles and remained at the height of seven talas (palm trees). The monks were at the height of six talas. When the Blessed One was at the height of six talas, the monks were at the height of five talas. When the Blessed One was at the height of five talas, the monks were at the height of four talas. When the Blessed One was at the height of four talas, the monks were at the height of three talas. When the Blessed One was at the height of three talas, the monks were at the height of two talas. When the Blessed One was at the height of two talas, the monks were at the height of one tala. When the Blessed One remained at the height of seven men, the monks were at the height of six men.
