Having stayed in one place, many monks requested the Blessed One, saying: Venerable, we, many monks, put on our robes in the morning, and carrying our bowls and Dharma robes, entered Rajagriha for alms. Then, those people of Rajagriha who had recently renounced and been fully ordained from the place of the heretics of the Truly Victorious sect, being displeased and manifestly unhappy, seeing those monks, mocked and spoke verses: The Buddhas, the Magadhas, Having departed from the excellent city of Rajagriha, If in the teaching of the Truly Victorious, What will be mixed in hereafter? Having said this, they made us ashamed, displeased, and without fear. The Blessed One said: Monks, to those people of Rajagriha who say such things, say this: Here, the great heroes, the Sugatas, Guide with the sacred Dharma, Those guided by the Dharma, What wise person would be displeased? If you say this, all the arrogance or pride of those people of Rajagriha who say such things will completely disappear. Then, many monks put on their robes in the morning, and carrying their bowls and Dharma robes, entered Rajagriha for alms. Then, a monk at that time spoke a verse: Here, the great heroes, the Sugatas, Guide with the sacred Dharma, Those guided by the Dharma, What wise person would not be pleased? Having said this, all the arrogance or pride of those people of Rajagriha who say such things completely disappeared. Then, the Buddha, the Blessed One, the son of the Victor, the Victor

You reside in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden. King Prasenajit of Kosala sent a letter to King Suddhodana. May you be pleased. Your son has attained nectar and satisfies beings with nectar. When King Suddhodana heard this letter, he sent messengers, and as a result, the messengers immediately renounced. Whichever messengers were sent, they immediately renounced in that well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya. King Suddhodana rested his hand on his cheek, thinking, "Whichever messengers I send, they immediately renounce in that well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya." The diviner Charka saw this and said, "O King, why do you sit unhappily with your hand on your cheek?" He said, "Charka, When the youth Siddhartha was enjoying pleasure, the people I sent to deliver the letter came to me and said, 'The youth Siddhartha resides here, he resides in this way and that way.' Now, if I don't send people to deliver the letter, no one will come with the letter, how can I not feel sad?" Charka said, "O King, I will go and return to report." King Suddhodana said, "Charka, whoever goes, seeing the perfection of his teachings, will stay there, and if you go, you will also stay there, there is such a place." Charka said, "O King, I will return." Then, King Suddhodana himself wrote a letter: Since you entered the womb, I have raised you greatly. Like the fire of afflictions blazing. If you rely on the Victorious Tree, your students, the branches and shoots will grow. Others will be happy with joy, but I am destined for suffering. Furthermore, you are like a sapling, I have raised you from a young age, thinking this is my son. If a son is enjoyed by the villagers, but does not give the fruit of merit, you have no compassion. When you were first born, you accomplished your own goals, and to the relatives, you gave great benefit.

Saying: Since you have made a vow, if you attain quiescence, please care for me and my relatives with compassion, please consider going. Akara took this letter and set off, gradually reaching Shravasti, resting on the way to relieve fatigue, and then went to where the Blessed One was. Upon arriving, he presented the letter offered by King Shuddhodana to the Blessed One. The Blessed One himself took it and read it. After reading it, he put the letter aside, and Akara asked: Blessed One, are you not going to Kapilavastu? The Blessed One replied: Akara, go. Akara was very familiar with the Blessed One before, so he asked only on the basis of his previous familiarity: Blessed One, if you do not go, I will use my power to mediate. Then, the Blessed One answered this situation with verses: Who is not attached to the kingdom's throne, and is not bound by greed, possessing the boundless realm of the Buddha, if he has no basis, with what basis to mediate? Who is not attached to the kingdom's throne, and is not bound by greed, possessing the boundless power of the Buddha, if he has no basis, with what basis to mediate? Who has conquered everything and no longer accumulates, has not conquered the world, and has no slightest residue, possessing the boundless realm of the Buddha, if he has no basis, with what basis to mediate? Because he had no ability to answer, he said: Blessed One, I am leaving, I will inform King Shuddhodana. Akara, the messenger of the Buddha is not like this. Akara asked: Blessed One, what is it like? If you are a renunciate, you should also renounce. Blessed One, I have vowed to go see King Shuddhodana again. The Blessed One replied: Akara, having renounced, do as you have vowed. In this way, when the Blessed One was previously a Bodhisattva, he never violated any words that were in accordance with the Dharma to his father, mother, Khenpo, Acharya, Lama, and those of similar status to the Lama. Akara asked: Blessed One,
