The deity Indra, knowing that the Blessed One was afflicted by a wind-related illness, near a tree called Jambu, which is considered a symbol of Jambudvipa, not far from there, was a large Haritaki fruit grove. Then, he picked Haritaki fruits with color, fragrance, and taste, and went to where the Blessed One was. Upon arriving, he bowed to the Blessed One's feet with his head and sat to one side. After sitting to one side, the deity Indra said to the Blessed One: 'Venerable Blessed One, I know that you are afflicted by the illness of cold wind, near the tree called Jambu, which is considered a symbol of Jambudvipa, not far from there, is a large Haritaki fruit grove. Then, I picked Haritaki fruits with color, fragrance, and taste, and brought them here, please Blessed One, partake of them.' After the Blessed One partakes of it, it will be in harmony with the cold wind, and the illness of cold wind will gradually subside. After the Blessed One partakes of it, it will be in harmony with the wind, and the wind-related illness will gradually subside. At that time, the Blessed One felt very comfortable and became even healthier. At that time, the Blessed One stayed under the Bodhi tree as long as he pleased, and then went to where the Naga King Mucilinda was, relying on the tree, sat in the lotus position, straightened his body, maintained mindfulness, and remained there. At that time, in the abode of the Naga King Mucilinda, untimely clouds formed for seven days. Then, the Naga King Mucilinda, knowing that untimely clouds had formed for seven days, manifested from his abode. 'The Blessed One may be afflicted by cold wind during these seven days, or may be harmed by heat, mosquitoes, flies, wind, sunlight, and the touch of poisonous snakes.' So, he wrapped his body around the Blessed One's body seven times and formed a huge hood above. Then, the Naga King Mucilinda, knowing that the untimely clouds of seven days had disappeared, detached his body from the Blessed One's body, removed his armlets and earrings.

Have you not been touched by the harm of heat and, bees and, horseflies and, cold wind and, umbrellas and, poisonous snakes? Then, the Blessed One at that time spoke in verse: True joy is happiness, to see the Dharma is to behold, by restraining all sentient beings, harmlessness in the world is happiness, the world is free from desire and, to overcome all desires is happiness, whoever subdues pride, that is the supreme of happiness. Then, the Blessed One remained in the place of the Naga King Tangzung for as long as he wished to stay, and then went to the Bodhi tree heart place, and sat in the lotus position on the prepared grass mat, straightened his body, placed mindfulness in front of him, and spent seven days in one lotus position, and observed the twelve interdependent origination limbs in accordance with the order, and not in accordance with the order, that is to say, this being, that is; this arising, that arises, that is to say, with ignorance as the condition, actions arise; with actions as the condition, consciousness arises; with consciousness as the condition, name and form arise; with name and form as the condition, the six sense sources arise; with the six sense sources as the condition, contact arises; with contact as the condition, feeling arises; with feeling as the condition, craving arises; with craving as the condition, grasping arises; with grasping as the condition, becoming arises; with becoming as the condition, birth arises; with birth as the condition, old age and death arise, and, sorrow and, lamentation and, suffering and, displeasure and, affliction, etc., thus this great mass of suffering arises.
