That deity illuminated the carts and all the merchants with vast light, and said to the merchants Gagon and Bhadra: "Merchants, merchants, this Buddha Bhagavan is in Bodh Gaya, under the Bodhi tree on the bank of the Nairanjana River. Not long after attaining complete enlightenment, he is experiencing the joy and bliss of liberation. He has spent seven days in a single lotus posture, and no one has offered him food. If you offer him food there first, it will become your long-term benefit, happiness, and well-being." Having said this, that deity disappeared. Then, the merchants Gagon and Bhadra thought: "The Buddha is not unexcelled, and the Dharma is not unexcelled, because even the gods are striving to offer food to the Bhagavan in this way." So, the next day they got up early, took a lot of honey and beeswax, and went to where the Bhagavan was. Upon arriving, they bowed their heads to the feet of the Bhagavan and sat to one side. Sitting to one side, the merchants Gagon and Bhadra said to the Bhagavan: "Venerable one, for the sake of the Bhagavan, we have prepared a lot of honey and beeswax. Please, Bhagavan, with loving-kindness, accept this." Then, the Bhagavan thought: "If I accept food with my hands, it would be like the Tirthikas, which is not appropriate for me. I should consider where the Buddhas of the past, the perfectly enlightened ones, accepted food for the benefit of sentient beings." At that moment, the gods said to the Bhagavan: "Venerable one, the Buddhas of the past, the perfectly enlightened ones, accepted food in alms bowls for the sake of benefiting sentient beings." The Bhagavan also contemplated and generated the eye of wisdom, thinking that the Buddhas, the Bhagavans of the past, accepted food in alms bowls for the benefit of sentient beings. At that time, to the Bhagavan

The thought of the alms bowl arose. Then the four great kings, knowing that the Blessed One would have the thought of the alms bowl, brought four stone alms bowls made from a rocky mountain, not made by humans, nor taken by humans, clear, clean, and without bad smell, and went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads to the two feet of the Blessed One and sat on one side. Having sat on one side, the four great kings said to the Blessed One: Venerable One, we know that the Blessed One needs an alms bowl, so we have brought four stone alms bowls made of stone from a rocky mountain, not made by humans, nor taken by humans, clear, clean, and without bad smell. Blessed One, please accept them with compassion. Then the Blessed One thought: If I accept one alms bowl from one great king, then the minds of three will be unhappy. If I accept from two, then the minds of two will be unhappy. If I accept from three, then the mind of one will be unhappy, rather I will accept four alms bowls from the four great kings and bless them into one alms bowl. Thinking this, the Blessed One accepted four alms bowls from the four great kings and blessed them into one alms bowl. Then the Blessed One accepted alms for the benefit of merchants Gaga and Sangpo and all sentient beings. Then the Blessed One said to the merchants Gaga and Sangpo: Merchants, take refuge in the Buddha, take refuge in the Dharma. Also take refuge in the Sangha that will appear in the future. Venerable One, we take refuge in the Buddha, we take refuge in the Dharma. We also take refuge in the Sangha that will appear in the future. Then the Blessed One rejoiced in the generosity of the merchants Gaga and Sangpo, for whatever purpose the generosity was given, it will become that purpose, if the generosity is given for the purpose of happiness, then

That will become an obstacle. Virtuous deeds ripen into happiness, and wishes will also be fulfilled. May you quickly realize the supreme and peaceful Nirvana. Harm arising from external sources, from the ranks of gods and demons, cannot create obstacles when one is solely engaged in virtuous deeds. If a generous person strives for the sake of noble wisdom, they will see and touch the ultimate cessation of suffering. Then, the merchants Gaga and Zangpo were overjoyed by the Buddha's teachings, rejoiced and praised them, bowed to the Buddha's feet with their heads, and then departed from the Buddha's presence. After that, the Buddha received alms from the merchants Gaga and Zangpo, went to the Nairanjana River, and upon arriving, sat on the bank of the Nairanjana River and began to eat. At that time, honey also caused wind, and sugarcane also caused wind, so the Buddha suffered from wind disease. Then, the evil Mara, knowing that the Buddha was suffering from wind disease, went to where the Buddha was, and upon arriving, said to the Buddha: "Lord Buddha, the time for you to enter Parinirvana has come! Sugata, the time for you to enter Parinirvana has come!" Then, the Buddha thought to himself: "This evil Mara has come to disturb me." Thinking this, the Buddha said to the evil Mara: "Evil one, as long as my disciples have not become wise, clear, and steadfast in mind, able to rightly refute the arguments of outsiders, able to clearly explain their own views, and as long as monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen have not appeared, and my pure conduct has not been widely, correctly, and thoroughly proclaimed among the vast population, among gods and humans, I will not enter Parinirvana." Then, the evil Mara thought: "Alas! The ascetic Gautama will not enter Parinirvana." Thinking this, he felt pain, displeasure, and regret, and immediately disappeared. Then, the assembly of the gods...
