Then, the three daughters of the demon, their wishes unfulfilled and ashamed of their appearance, became old and decrepit, like a bent nine-section whip, hunchbacked, leaning on a cane, their bodies trembling, went to where the wicked demon was, and having arrived, said to the wicked demon: "The hero is free from desire, Beauty cannot seduce him well. Because he has transcended the realm of demons, I am deeply saddened." They said to their father, "We have not done anything to confuse the minds of others, nor do we have any means to confuse him, yet we still cannot control him. The demon said, "You are arrogant and complacent because of your beauty, shining like lightning from a cloud, and went forth with joyful pride. To harm the Buddha, who has cut off all desires, is like digging a mountain with fingernails, biting iron with teeth, or wanting to destroy a mountain with a young lotus stalk.
