The power of merit has also been heard. The power of wisdom has also been heard. Venerable one, what kind of miraculous powers do the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones possess? O descendants of the lineage, do you wish to hear about the miraculous powers of the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones from the Tathāgata? Venerable one, O Bhagavan, we desire to hear! O Sugata, we desire to hear! O descendants of the lineage, therefore, listen well and attentively, and keep it in mind, and I will tell you. O descendants of the lineage, there was a time when the Blessed One was dwelling in the grassland of Virana, under a rough Toṅka tree, as if dwelling in a yaksha's hut. And at that time, in the grassland of Virana, there was a famine because beggars found it difficult to obtain alms. The monks were also completely exhausted by poor food. Then a monk named Dāgala's son went to where I was, and when he arrived, he said this to me: Venerable one, now in the grassland of Virana, there is a famine because beggars find it difficult to obtain alms, and the monks are completely exhausted by the poor summer food. Venerable one, I have personally heard and personally received from the Blessed One that in this great mound, the abundant essence of flavor that arises from the mound is located below, and I also see it with my own correct knowledge. In this great mound, the abundant essence of flavor that arises from the mound is located below, Venerable one, therefore, I wish to overturn this great mound. I wish to place the abundant essence of flavor that is below this great mound above, and place what is above below. Then I said to him: Son of Dāgala, do you wish to overturn the earth? He replied: Venerable one, I wish to overturn the great mound. Then I said to him: Do you wish to stay here and overturn the earth? He replied: Venerable one, the surroundings and the great surroundings of

Remaining in place, he wished to move this great earth. To that, he spoke thus: "Son of Kāla, if you wish to move the great earth, what will you do with the sentient beings and creatures that dwell on the earth?" He replied thus: "Venerable one, I wish to move this great earth. Whatever sentient beings and creatures dwell on the earth, I will pick them up and hold them with my left hand, and with my right hand, I will move the great earth." To that, he spoke thus: "Son of Kāla, when you move the great earth, what kind of perception will you have?" He replied thus: "Venerable one, when I move the great earth, I will have an extremely light perception, just as a strong man moves the leaves of a water tree, he will have an extremely light perception. Venerable one, similarly, when I move the great earth, I will also have an extremely light perception." To that, he spoke thus: "Son of Maudgalyāyana, well done, well done! Son of Maudgalyāyana, if you could move the great earth with that miraculous power and method, the Tathāgata would not allow you to move the great earth. Son of Maudgalyāyana, why is that? Because most sentient beings are attached to the taste of food, and are deluded by the taste of food, and thus become completely ignorant. Son of Maudgalyāyana, why is that? Because the abundant taste element produced from the earth on the great earth will not last long, and before long, it will completely disappear on the great earth. Therefore, sentient beings, beings, and creatures will also be attached to the taste of food, and be deluded by the taste of food, and thus become extremely intoxicated, or they will die after their lives are cut short. Son of Kāla, therefore, the Tathāgata will not allow you to move the great earth." The lineage of the dwelling place, the monk, the son of Kāla, possesses such miraculous power. The lineage of the dwelling place, for example, the sun, which illuminates in various ways, illuminates the directions as it travels everywhere.

In such a thousandfold world, there are a thousand moons, a thousand suns, a thousand Mount Merus, the king of mountains, a thousand Eastern Videhas, a thousand Western Godaniyas, a thousand Northern Kuru, a thousand Jambudvipas, a thousand gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the Free from Strife, the Joyful, the Enjoying Emanation, and a thousand gods of the Controlling Others' Emanations. This thousandfold Brahma world is called a minor chiliocosm. That minor chiliocosm is a mesocosm of two thousand. That thousand mesocosms is called a tri-chiliocosm, a great chiliocosm. The Noble Sutra of Throwing Stones. The second volume is the last. The continuum of abiding, that tri-chiliocosm, the great chiliocosm, is also filled with monks who possess magical powers, like the son of Dagala. Even if the magical power of the Tathagata is ascertained, it does not come close to one in a hundred. It does not come close to one in a thousand, one in a hundred thousand, a number, a part, a count, an example, or a cause. What is the reason for that? The emanation of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas is the movement of the body, while the emanation of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, is as swift as thought. The continuum of abiding, the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Awakened Ones, possess such power of magical abilities. Whether in the past, the future, or the time when I am now appearing, all the Buddhas, the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Awakened Ones, are equal and the same. The names are the same, the qualities are equally the same, the ripening of the fruits of merit is the same. However, the three causes, lineage, lifespan, and body, are not the same. Venerable ones, we have heard from the Tathagata about the power born from the fathers and mothers of the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Awakened Buddhas.
