No, thus he discriminates accordingly. Having thus known, he truly sees the tastes of the past, future, and present arising from what is distinguished by the tongue as sickness, and truly sees them as boils, arrows, sins, impermanent, suffering, empty, and without self. When he truly sees the tastes of the past, future, and present arising from what is distinguished by the tongue as sickness, boils, arrows, sins, impermanent, suffering, empty, and without self, then with regard to the tastes of the past, future, and present arising from what is distinguished by his tongue, he abandons whatever wrong beliefs, inverted perceptions, inverted minds, or inverted views there may be, such as the knot of the assembly of greed, the knot of the assembly of malice, the knot of the assembly of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme, and the knot of the assembly of manifest attachment and holding as supreme, thinking, "This is true." Because of abandoning these, the demon is terrified, disgusted, and dwells without support, and the evil demon goes unseen, destroying the demon and the demon's retinue, waging the battle of the great war, being victorious in battle, and dwelling having manifestly defeated the face of battle itself. Thus, for this noble disciple who dwells having entered into the practice of higher wisdom, living by wisdom is the supreme sustenance among those who live by wisdom. Monks, how does a noble disciple dwell having entered into the practice of higher wisdom, living by wisdom as the supreme sustenance among those who live by wisdom? Monks, here, a noble disciple who dwells having entered into the practice of higher wisdom is one who used to dwell attached to and dwelling in places of pleasant touch that are distinguished by the body, and dwelt filled with anger in places of unpleasant touch that are distinguished by the body. The touch that is distinguished by the body, the neutral

For things like... there is no separate examination. Having remained in equanimity without separate examination. Thus, since I have long studied and practiced this, experiencing aging and death, and the past limit has become invisible, I should not now study the tangibles that can be known by the body as before. I should not have perverse faith, perverse perception, perverse mind, or perverse view towards the tangibles of the past, future, and present that can be known by the body, such as the knot of covetousness, the knot of malice, the knot of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, and the knot of clinging and cherishing, thinking, "This is true." In order to abandon these knots, I should study, and may I abandon these knots. Therefore, in order to make such separate examinations. Monks, however, here, for some, the tangibles that can be known by the body become pleasant, while for others, they become unpleasant. For them, sometimes they become like pleasant states, sometimes they become like unpleasant states, and sometimes they become like states of equanimity. Monks, in this way, sentient beings have long been obscured by the mind, seduced by the mind, and deceived by the mind, not seeing faults, and not fully understanding liberation.

are tormented. Those who possess the subsequent attachments are also allowed to be manipulated by the evil demon as he pleases. Monks, whichever ascetics or Brahmins do not see these tangible objects that are cognizable by the body as true and existent, but cling tightly to their own mistaken beliefs, and, being attached, subsequently label them, saying, "Only this is true, and the rest is meaningless," those people dwell in anger towards tangible objects cognizable by the body, as if they were unpleasant situations. Ascetics and Brahmins are tormented by the knot of the assembly of malice. Those who possess the attachments of anger are also allowed to be manipulated by the evil demon as he pleases. Monks, whichever ascetics or Brahmins do not see these tangible objects that are cognizable by the body as true and existent, but cling tightly to their own mistaken beliefs, and, being attached, subsequently label them, saying, "Only this is true, and the rest is false," those people do not individually examine tangible objects cognizable by the body, such as situations of equanimity. They dwell in equanimity without individual examination. Ascetics and Brahmins, clinging to the belief that "this is true," are tormented by the knot of the assembly of supreme attachment. Those who possess the attachments of pride are also allowed to be manipulated by the evil demon as he pleases. Monks, it is like this: for example, when a person is harassed by thieves, he thinks, "This is my son," and takes another's son and flees from the village. He is very happy with this and does not see any fault in it. But when he examines it individually, he realizes, "This is not my son; this is another's son." At that time, he is grieved, ashamed, remorseful, and reproached. Monks, similarly, a noble disciple who has heard the teachings, having obtained this noble, transcendent wisdom, regarding the previous
