Those who observe the land, revolve in the five paths. Therefore, they admonish with verses that advise those gods. Even if they understand in this way, it is not complete enlightenment, because they do not fully understand the pleasures of desire. They do not value those people, so they still dance as before, and are completely attached to the pleasures of desire. Then, with the mind always kept in equanimity, benefiting all sentient beings equally. The Bodhisattva Dusang, who keeps his mind in equanimity alone, went among those swans. If so, because it is the allotment of fortune, he rejoices in the midst of those birds. If so, in that good cave, he himself alone, with his mind well composed, contemplates the Dharma. Thus, the king of birds, Dusang, together with those other swans who enjoy pleasure together, also speaks of the Dharma. Those gods who came into that flock of birds, with minds of great joy and friendship, wanting to be happy, when they saw that lake, were more joyful than all, exceedingly captivating to the eye and mind, adorned by trees and fruits that cause all to flourish. Having seen those, the gods, with minds of great joy, completely occupied those surroundings together with the retinue who also enjoyed them, and began to do even more than ten times the acts of dancing, singing, jesting, and swaggering. Thus, in that lake, the gods rejoice and also frolic. Then, having seen those, the Bodhisattva, endowed with a mind of supreme and complete maturity, speaks these verses, as follows: By diligence, negligence, When the wise should abandon. Wisdom arises at the top of the good house, Supreme bliss is attained. Whoever abandons the negligent, These paths are the best of peace.

O! This path leads to Nirvana, and one becomes a great wise person. However, the obstacles on this path are extremely hateful, capable of causing distress in the mindstream. Severing the bridges of all Dharmas is the proclamation of heedlessness. It diminishes mindfulness, destroys the path to liberation, and leads to the evil realms of the other shore, all entered through heedlessness. This confuses the mind, and I do not know the benefit. Like a dead corpse, neither understanding words nor comprehending their meaning. Therefore, this is like a beast, holding the body of a deity. Vanquished by heedlessness, ignorance, dancing, and revelry, due to the transmigration of birth and death, they are destroyed and terrified. Whoever follows heedlessness, all beings in the three realms are like that. Heedlessness generates all faults, the bonds and sinful deeds, and diminishes the mindfulness of all Dharmas. The enemy of heedlessness easily invades, whether it be the inner nature of deeds or any external thing. Those vanquished by heedlessness generate useless thoughts. Who can escape from this? But heedlessness can obstruct it. Eyes without shame or embarrassment are overcome by heedlessness. Intoxicated by play, distracted by the beauty of dance and music, never satisfied with the pleasures of divine objects, they will eventually fall from the heavenly realms. Those who delight in fearful places are blinded by heedlessness. Those who do not recognize the path on the path are like the blind. Thus, when he performs the benefit of others, he sees the gods, but among all speech, among the birds, entering the flock of swans that extremely attract the eye and mind, even if he recites the verses that can be recollected, the gods will not hear, like the deaf. Thus, without deliberation, accompanied by dancing and revelry, led by the sound of five musical instruments, which is harmonious and pleasing, able to capture the hearts and minds of all beings, but because the mind is extremely attached to the other five objects, they cannot hear. Thus it is.

I dwell circling around that lake. Similarly, these three beings who possess great virtues are the ones who teach the Dharma to the strife-free gods who dwell in heedlessness due to the attachment of sentient beings to various places. Namely: Musulin, the swan king Dusang, and the peacock king Nampar Trawa. These three are the ones who teach the Dharma by engaging in following others, some establishing them in the enlightenment of the solitary Buddha, and some establishing them in the enlightenment of the hearers. Those who dwell in such a way are the ones who possess virtue, the ones who wish to flee from the realm of Mara. Then, the evil Mara himself thought: How can I make the place where I dwell empty? In the human world, there are ascetics. The four great kings are the four great kings. In the Thirty-Three, there is Shika. In Tsema, there are Musulin, Dusang, and Nampar Trawa. In Tushita, there is Rabtu Shiwa. All those retinues who enjoy together, let them not hear, and let the places and my gods and people be deluded by ignorance. Let no one hear except those who are called joyful transformations. Even my army, which possesses great strength, is capable of arranging the repulsion that I have made. Even in the end, I will search for and send retinues who are equal in wisdom and able to overcome others, to where there are strife-free gods. Then, having thought in this way, the evil Mara, having consulted with the ministers, sent messengers who were wise, skilled in illusion, and of great power, namely those who cause joy, heedlessness, and delusion, for the purpose of arguing with Musulin, Dusang, and Nampar Trawa. O you, go among the gods of Tsema and obstruct Musulin, Dusang, and Nampar Trawa from teaching the Dharma. Then, having heard those words, to where there are the strife-free gods
