And those who have the same attributes are also content. Then, at that time, the Peacock King spoke in the rhythm of verses: How? Those who are liberated from the realm of the six transverse, also protect the contented. Those who have no attachment to uninteresting tastes, desire ultimate happiness. For the form that has become like that, who can look at it equally? The nature of form, those transverse ones, will not strongly enter his mind. The ear touches the sounds, and the mind does not strongly connect. The nature of his ear, desire does not run in the heart. The nose is perfectly matched with the object, because he only knows that. Because of his mind, the nose is not bound by faults either. After firmly tasting the tastes, he also correctly recognizes that. In the house of his mind, the faults arising from taste do not harm. The body touches all kinds of tactile objects, and does not become confused. He who knows the means of tactile objects, the edge of happiness becomes infinite. Whether agreeable or disagreeable, whatever the mind can tolerate some dharmas, extremely firm like a rock, his mind is fully proclaimed. Thus it is said. Therefore, those ascetics and Brahmins who are completely liberated from the transverse are fully proclaimed as content. Thus, thus, the Peacock King himself proclaims the scriptures to those who are free from strife and those who are joyful. Other dharmas should also be remembered by the ascetics or Brahmins who abide in the Mahayana. What are these? Like this: to see objects as fearful. To produce the best of happiness. Ascetics or Brahmins also see different faces from any object. When the eye subsequently sees the forms, then, when eye consciousness arises, when consciousness experiences it, it distinguishes, like this, for this object that has come here, one should also abandon the attachment of desire. For this object that strongly binds the self, because of the attachment of desire, the fears that arise universally will appear, therefore, the attachment of desire.

It should be thoroughly destroyed. The transverse ones should be dried up. Improper attention should also be abandoned. When encountering an object, if various discriminations arise, then corresponding consciousness will also arise. That is, either accompanied by desire, or accompanied by hatred, these he knows as they truly are. These ultimate attentions of afflictions arise in me, and they will also bring me unprofitable things. Neither in this world nor in the next will there be happiness, afflictions will not be for my benefit, nor will they bring happiness. These are the bonds of all sentient beings, when ascetics or Brahmins make various discriminations about objects, then, for this person, the desire longed for in the heart is completely aroused, all of these will be completely cut off or hidden. Just as the eye truly distinguishes forms, similarly, the sounds born from the ear are also distinguished, the arising of this ear consciousness is due to the cause of the ear and the cause of the attention that gives rise to it, thereby producing a feeling of pleasure or a feeling of pain, or being dominated by the consciousness born from it, such attentions arise from me. Whether desire is increased, or hatred is increased, or ignorance is increased, the consciousness is like the light of a lamp, other consciousnesses that are combined with the continuum recognize it, just as I have generated an unwholesome attention, he immediately understands that unwholesome attention. He truly distinguishes and abandons the unwholesome dharmas born from causes and conditions. When he completely abandons unwholesome dharmas, other wholesome dharmas will also be completely filled. Here, truly observe the objects.

While doing so, those who apply proper attention will become endowed with great strength, and those who apply improper attention will not arise. This one who is accompanied by joyful desire will not possess the transversal, recurring transversal. When that, that is exhausted, it will become completely pure. Separated from the defilements of afflictions, and separated from those unwholesome stains, and will be happy at all times. Because of those, whether it be a renunciate or a Brahmin or other people, they should also first destroy the unwholesome that arises from the desire for objects that have arisen from desire. One should also constantly and repeatedly examine the virtues separately. All sinful, unwholesome dharmas should also be completely destroyed. Similarly, after hearing sounds with the ear, one should also separately generate wholesome consciousnesses that are exactly as they are. Furthermore, Whether it is a renunciate or a Brahmin, and they themselves and those of their kind, how do they know after smelling odors with the nose? Here, from the cause of the nose and the cause of the odor, nose consciousness will also arise, and after that arises, due to the cause of attention, when unwholesome attention arises, these renunciates or Brahmins will know, how did these unwholesome, sinful dharmas arise? That will also bring meaningless things to me. These unhappinesses should be completely abandoned by me. When he abandons those unwholesome attentions, he will also separately understand as it really is. At that time, proper attention will arise well for him. He, being properly endowed with that attention that is in accordance with the Dharma, destroys the transversals that possess joyful desire. He again separately examines that very odor, and having examined it separately in that way, he will not be attached to all odors in all ways. From that complete destruction, he will also become happy. He
