Others will take the shoulder of the body. Others will take the fingernails of the fingers. Others will take the nails. Others will take the ribs. Others will take the bones of the back. Others will take the hip bones. Others will take the thighs. Others will take the bones of the legs. Others will take the collection of toes. Therefore, those who truly and separately observe their own form will not be proud of form. If one truly observes and understands the pride of power and wealth, it will disappear. When all beings truly realize that all these are subject to others and have no autonomy. Beings are subject to others in many ways, so how can this have autonomy? These conditioned dharmas that are subject to others are completely occupied by the birthplaces of others, and arise from causes and conditions. For example, a house is also called a house because of the collection of various surrounding objects, etc., which depend on each other and rely on each other. Similarly, this aggregate of form called the body is also composed of skin, flesh, bones, and fat, etc., without an autonomous author, and the separate aggregate of form is the name of form. Therefore, here, whether it is a śrāmaṇa, a brahmin, or others of the same kind, if they measure in this way and separate form as it truly is, then they will be completely free from or succumb to all the pride of form, caste, and power. Wisdom, discipline, and generosity are visible, and such people are endowed with pure lineage and excellent qualities. Children only take pride in emptiness and only understand these things. For example, whether it is a Shramana, a Brahmin, or other people of the same kind, to understand lineages as they truly are, then the pride of this lineage will be completely and utterly cut off, and their heads will be lowered. Then, the Peacock King spoke in metered verses: The pride of appearance, power, and lineage, If sentient beings cling to this, Like a drunken elephant gone mad. They fall completely and do not see the truth. All arrogant men, Disturb their senses with carelessness. Coming to this world again, In the next life, they will suffer in evil realms. The pride of appearance and power, Blind eyes commit sins. They cannot find happiness, In the next life, they will be seen in evil realms. Asking about lineage with appearance and power, Whoever does not possess these is without merit. Children do not understand these, They will not cross the ocean of samsara. Whoever has lineage and perfection, And others who desire happiness. All these are impermanent, Therefore, do not cling to this. Without wisdom and discipline, Lineage is not praised by the wise. Whoever has wisdom and discipline, Dwells in a great lineage. Without wisdom, there is no power, Not a lineage, nor a good tradition. Therefore, wisdom is lineage, Without wisdom, there is no lineage. Whose actions are without defilement, Discipline is like a cool lake. He is born into a great lineage, Those with defilements are not a lineage. Discipline, asceticism, meditation, and generosity, Truthful, steadfast, and able to conquer enemies. Whoever truly possesses lineage, His Dharma is completely abandoned. Those with disheveled hair and arrogance are not seen as Shramanas. Birth lineage
