Moreover, it becomes an adornment even for those paths that transcend the path. It can also be liberated from all faults. Because steadfastness can certainly liberate from all faults, therefore, from beginningless time, various kinds of nets of faults spread, tightly and extremely firmly connected to the mind, those cannot be destroyed by a short time, small diligence, samadhi, and steadfastness. Those nets of faults that abide clinging to the ground of the mind, only the steadfastness that a monk can liberate from samsara can cut off, others cannot. Yogis who are completely in accordance with this, in order to completely abandon the small, unwholesome attachments that arise from conditions with steadfast wisdom, therefore, they do not generate any attachment to it. One must also make efforts through everything, because of the fear of the fear of unwholesome dharmas, one completely abandons it. Even if desire arises, monks must cultivate ugliness with a steadfast mind. Because it is completely in accordance with this and has become a companion, it can completely abandon the unwholesome mind born from the cause of dark desire. It will not be led by it. Similarly, if a mind accompanied by hatred arises, it will not be taken away by it, because abiding in steadfastness, the loving friend has become a friend. Similarly, for all minds that arise in accordance with ignorance, one must accomplish it with the antidote of dependent origination. After that, at this time, the Peacock King spoke the verses: Just as, abiding in everything, also grasping, that which is constantly grasped by the transverse. Those who have not been liberated from the transverse bonds are neither in this world nor in the other world. Thus, the Peacock King showed various kinds of faults of abiding to those gods of Tushita and the gods of non-conflict and constant joy. Thereafter, those gods for the benefit of the two worlds

Even having heard these teachings many times, there was no satisfaction, so again they spoke to the king of peacocks: "How you have shown us those extremely rare and extremely profound teachings, which are virtuous in the beginning, middle, and end, the ultimate of nirvana, the supreme path that causes weariness with the many delusions of samsara, please again teach us the Dharma in the order of narration. We will all listen with one-pointed minds." Having heard those paths of Dharma that are greatly engaged in benefiting oneself and others from those gods, again the king of peacocks fully understood the minds of those gods who were listening to the Dharma with one-pointed minds, just as they were. Therefore, I will return, and because your minds have become very pleased, I will again teach them. Then, again understanding the minds, again in various ways, with a voice that is stable, vast, and extremely pleasing, and with a beautiful voice that is greatly engaged in benefiting others, he declares: "O gods, furthermore, those who abide in the Great Vehicle, whether they are renunciates or brahmins, or those similar to them, should also keep the Dharma in mind and be diligent in it, and should also be afraid. What is this? It is the fear of being unknown. A renunciate who fears being unknown will transform into a one-pointed wisdom. Therefore, he will abandon these faults out of fear of being unknown. Just as a coarse woman does not enter a house filled with defilements, nor does she associate with it. He does not engage in idle talk with wine sellers, nor is he with the unruly. He is not with thieves, nor is he with those who commit evil deeds. He is not with the frivolous, nor is he with those who scatter everywhere. He is not with those of other signs, nor is he with those who separately follow other signs. He is not with the sophists, nor is he with the thinkers. He is not with children, nor is he with those who live off women."
