The bodhisattva Dusang, who diligently benefits others, and the heedless ones who have turned to the side of Mara, along with their numerous and mad retinues, etc. Having understood the thoughts of these beings, this sutra spoken by the Bhagavan Light Protector has been appropriately taught in place and time. Among these eleven dharmas, the fifth dharma has been taught. I will also teach the remaining sixth dharma when it is appropriate in place and time. You should be single-minded and truly in accordance with it. Because having obtained leisure and abundance, if one does not teach the Dharma or listen to it, then one has obtained a very unfree state. Therefore, as long as one has leisure and abundance and all faculties are complete, one should teach the Dharma. Because the three realms of evil destinies, namely hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, are extremely painful. How can one listen to the Dharma in hell? Likewise, how can there be those who tame the Dharma among hungry ghosts and animals? Because they kill each other and have the faults of thirst and hunger. Only gods and humans can proclaim the Dharma, that is, those who are not heedless and do not wander in heedlessness. Therefore, I have abandoned heedlessness, and I will teach the Dharma to you who have faith and good intentions. You should listen with great respect. Thus, the Dharma of taming is very rare, and leisure and abundance are also very difficult to obtain. Furthermore, what is it that deceives others with impure and unclean dharmas? It is great desire. That Dharma also becomes extremely impure, and by what should one destroy that which is blessed by great desire? It is contentment. The so-called great desire does not allow householders or renunciates to live in peace, because those who have become greatly desirous, whether householders or renunciates, will not be happy day or night. Even having obtained possessions, one will not obtain peace. Any wealth

Even if one obtains (wealth), it will not lead to ultimate satisfaction. How will great greed affect those renunciates who must depart from household life? Likewise, it will not create obstacles for householders. Because, if a renunciate becomes greedy, then he is a householder, not a renunciate. A renunciate is one who has destroyed arrogance, pride, conceit, ignorance, and jealousy, and is completely free from greed. Generally, even those faults themselves will cause those monks who are called greedy to be despised by all others. Any monk with a greedy mind, because his mind is always inclined towards wealth, his mind will not rejoice in virtuous dharmas day and night. His mind does not rejoice, his senses do not rejoice, and his actions do not rejoice. Whether he loses his way or walks on the land of the Sangha, he will approach hell because of it. Lodging, the causes of illness, medicine, and utensils will only cause obstacles in the beginning. He will be thrown into hell to be tormented, because he violates the precepts, is greedy, has a sinful nature, is not a practitioner but claims to be one, like a jackal wearing a lion's skin, like false merchandise, like the sound of an empty conch shell, extremely empty, extremely cunning, and extremely degenerate. Some people become greedy and say: I am a monk, a Kāśyapīya (of the Kāśyapa school). I am a renunciate in the teachings and discipline of the Kāśyapīyas. Like this, making vows and speaking, but the greedy person, fire will not burn him. How greed harms those of shallow wisdom, poison will not bend them in that way. How greed makes one age with old age, old age itself will not make one age in that way. How greed cuts down virtuous trees from the root with the weapon of greed, weapons will not cut down from the root in that way. How greed is destroyed by the diseases of greed,

Diseases do not easily destroy (them). Just as an enemy with great desire enters the inner crevices and constantly dwells in the heart, thereby destroying life, so do enemies who seek opportunities enter the inner crevices. Those who constantly approach and seek opportunities also do not kill life. Therefore, recognize those faults and completely abandon those faulty monks with great desire who destroy both, because they destroy both worlds, and are full of defilements, and are the pinnacle of sin. Even if it has been enjoyed, whether day or night, there will be no peace. Then, at that time, the ruler of the non-contenders, Musulin, recited the verses spoken by the Blessed One Kashyapa Buddha, as follows: The great weapon of great desire, those who are cut by it are children. Therefore, abandon it like a weapon, the eyeless are bound by it. The wound of great desire is unbearable, in whose heart it arises, whether day or night, the greedy will not be at peace. Born from the firewood of pervasive thoughts, the transverse wind stirs everywhere. The fire of great desire nature, scorches the hearts of people. The heart entangled by desire, the mind is soft. People, bewildered by wealth, destroy the living essence. Whatever sinful deeds, are done by base people. The wise say that all of this comes from the delusion of wealth. Where the flames burn, what is used to distinguish good from bad, all this is the fault of greed, which is harmful and useless to oneself. All kinds of strife, and the intense suffering of weapons, the ignorant person relies on, the reason for this is also this. Know that everything comes from the fault of greed. Without relying on it, there will be no benefit, those who have attained the path have fully declared. In this way, Musulin spoke to those talking geese, and the goose king Tishana, and the three who, led by carelessness, became demons, namely satiety, madness, and those.
