Now, even when walking on the road and speaking, a heedless person has no share of happiness even for a moment. Like a wheel in the five realms, those who wander in the desire realm, and those who fall from meditation, are all caused by heedlessness. Even the four abodes of the formless realm, whatever worldly beings attain, wandering and revolving in existence, is also caused by heedlessness. All these three realms are bound by the bonds of heedlessness, tied by the ropes of existence, and even the unwise do not understand. Thus, Musulen, before the ancient gods, when the occasion arose to explain the sutra spoken by the Blessed One Light Protector, to the swan king Good Time, and to the swans who were speakers, and to the families of demons associated with heedlessness, agitation, and pride, taught the third of the eleven dharmas. What are those? Namely, agitation is utterly destroyed by discipline. The uncollected is collected by one-pointedness of mind, and among the various faults of broken vows, the natural transgressions rely on noble individuals, and externally by roots of virtue, etc. If the natural transgressions that are said to be broken vows are also liberated from samsara by relying well on noble individuals as friends, what need is there to mention the prescribed transgressions? Therefore, one should rely on noble individuals with great effort. What are the things to be abandoned? Namely, laziness is overcome by generating diligence. All laziness is also abandoned by generating diligence. Furthermore, how heedlessness is the beginning of all that is meaningless, and relying on a spiritual friend is the supreme root of all the teachings and disciplines. Moreover, the fourth dharma is certainly destroyed and abandoned by the fourth dharma. What are the things to be abandoned? Namely, laziness is overcome by generating diligence, and all laziness is destroyed by generating diligence. Just as light destroys darkness, all laziness is also abandoned by generating diligence. Among them, the lazy one

is the obstacle maker of all dharmas. For example, how it is done, so it manifests and grows, and it will become an obstacle to worldly and transcendental dharmas. In this world and the other world, the names of many things that will not become happy are also not easy to grasp. The so-called "lazy person" is one who has weak diligence and will be destroyed by others. He will be rejected by others. He will be defeated and punished by others, and lazy people will become very poor because they are completely destroyed. He will not accomplish all the ends of work. He will not make profits. He will not engage in agriculture. He will not do other household chores either. He does not rely on men, but is bound by the meditation of idleness. He will be ridiculed by all people. He will not be combined with wisdom. He is not a wise man. Nor is he one who has the nature of a wise man. He does not know the place and time. He does not know the difference between himself and others. He does not know the difference between his own strength and the strength of others. He will not accomplish what needs to be done in time, and all his actions will be hindered. When those lazinesses are destroyed by diligence, this person will be surpassed by the people of the world. He will get up early, wake up from fatigue, wake up from sleep and be fully awake, get up in time, generate weariness in time, and start actions without dependence. He possesses steadfast physical diligence, and through diligence, he thoroughly washes away the dirt of laziness, and he accomplishes all things that are without dirt. Even if obstacles occur, he will not be afraid, nor will he feel weary. Nor will he be hindered by others. He will also begin actions with great steadfastness. Diligence

Those who accomplish things with diligence will never decline in any way. Nor will they act entirely under the control of others. They will also understand the differences among people. They will understand the differences between their own army and the armies of others. They will also be praised by those. Great assemblies of people will also make offerings. Kings and ministers of kings will also make offerings. They will always be wealthy. Mental strength and power will also never diminish. Those who become hostile to them will be completely defeated. Because it is impossible to be hostile to those who possess diligence. Friends will also be accomplished accordingly, and therefore their friends will clearly increase. They will also have many friends, be extremely happy, and be extremely powerful. They will also be clearly delighted in other cities. Even in foreign lands, they will be clearly recognized by many people. Therefore, those who become friends with them will make offerings to them. In the world, they will be known by everyone. Those individuals who have completely abandoned laziness from the root will gain many qualities. Then, the great lord himself, with such strong armor, and free from defilement, will surely destroy the armies of Mara. Preparing for battle to turn back samsara, all the holy beings rejoice, and those who possess diligence, for the sake of well attaining the transcendent, undefiled, faultless, and peaceful space of nirvana, initiate all that is needed. That which is initially very stable and extremely difficult, especially liberating from the inferior places of enjoyment, this is the bondage of all samsaric beings, namely, dwelling in a house, a horizontal flowing river filled with sons, wives, sisters, male servants, female servants, fields, grains, and storehouses. Those who possess friends who have initiated diligence, samsara...
