Thus, it is the joy of Mount Potalaka. For all people, (these sights) are pleasing and melodious to the eyes and ears. Everywhere there is extreme joy, frolicking, playing, games, enjoyment, and men, women, and birds also make the mind happy. That mountain is like a second Mount Meru, two thousand yojanas high. The light of the towering Mount Potalaka makes the area of two thousand yojanas appear gray. The brilliance of lapis lazuli overwhelms the color of gold and the blue trees, making the mountain appear gray. For example, the excellent golden light of Mount Meru makes all the grass turn like gold. Likewise, the brilliance of Mount Potalaka also makes everything turn gray. Rock sheep, birds, water, lakes, rivers, trees, and lotuses are also very abundant, and this mountain is the same as before. Those who dwell near Mount Potalaka are called "Gray Appearance." Those people of Gray Appearance have great splendor, possess huge bodies, are extremely joyful, extremely beautiful, wear garlands, apply fragrant powders, and emit fragrance.

Being delighted with perfumes, playfulness, majesty, dancing, singing, and the sounds of musical instruments, and having completely destroyed the stains of mutual jealousy and stinginess, being without possessiveness and without pride, all those appearing as householders adorn their bodies with garlands, powders, fragrances, and perfumes. All the sounds of various musical instruments, songs, and the sounds of gandharvas proclaim the Dharma that brings joy, making everyone happy. Whatever thoughts are cherished in the mind, whatever is thought of, those things will arise from them. For example, unsewn clothes and various items, various necklaces, and various ornaments suitable for them, even when sleeping or fully awake, hearing sounds that are more delightful than delightful, are proclaimed by various hundreds and thousands of birds. They always smell the fragrant scents of lotus ponds of hundreds of thousands of kinds. Those appearing as householders thus experience the pleasures of emanation, the result of good deeds. Likewise, there are inferior, intermediate, and supremely excellent ones as well. Furthermore, the practitioner of yoga observes the ripening of the Dharma of karma, and exclaims, "Alas, how is it that these sentient beings do not see the consequences of the exhaustion of good deeds? Have these not yet manifested?" Then, what is the suffering of birth like? First, in the urine that is not empty of the semen and blood of both parents, in the womb that is like a ring of a field, in the nature of the bones below the abdomen, the seed of consciousness arises. Then, the wind of karma circles the womb, and on the seventh day it becomes like curds. Because of abandoning killing, even while dwelling in the curd-like state, consciousness does not transfer. On another seventh day, it becomes round.
