And, one does not look at other's alms bowl. Due to craving and attachment to food, one does not look at unripe fruits either. One completely abandons actions done for oneself and one's body. One does not urinate or defecate in places defiled and filled with worms, because one fears harming the worms. When engaging in alms-seeking, one looks only as far as the length of a yoke. One does not rely on or cling to assemblies of monks who are upright and rely on uprightness, one's heart becomes smaller than the heart, one is always under the power of meditation, and one begins diligence with joy. Therein, the heart itself is without hypocrisy, it itself is purely disciplined, it itself is purely living, and it is entirely beneficial, clean, and pure. It itself belongs to those who abide in the basis of learning as described above. As one desires one's own conduct, so one will be born. All the thoughts of this pure life will also arise from a virtuous mind. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan, the protector of all, spoke verses, as follows: Pure living, extremely pure, body and speech are peaceful. The meditator in extreme solitude, Nirvana is not far. Difficult to be grasped by the negligent, relying on cemeteries and forests. Always having the earth as a bed, Nirvana is not far. Tattered clothes, rags from the dust, one broken bowl, content with fruits and roots, that is the happiness the Buddha desires. For people with desire, contentment and manifest joy, the steadfast and well-thinking one, Nirvana is not far. Free from the stain of hypocrisy, saving from the bonds of dust, the mind is like the sky, Nirvana is not far. Thus, the Bhagavan praised the monk without hypocrisy. Therein, those who are fully endowed with these seven qualities are noble beings. Those who wander around relying on desires will sink into samsara.

Those people become beings with the name of humans but are like animals. That person who is perfectly endowed with these seven qualities is highly praised. Even after the body is destroyed, they will be born as gods in the heavens of the happy realms. Those who are completely superior will also attain Nirvana. These seven most excellent virtuous qualities are as follows: relying on a virtuous friend, having learning, having practice, being without laziness, having mindfulness, not harming others, and being without hypocrisy. By means of these seven great precious treasures, one will also attain the state of a god. Having obtained joys, they are exhausted by carelessness. Those ones will again turn their faces directly towards samsara, and for the most part, they will be born in hells, pretas, and animals. Therefore, gods should not be careless; understand well for yourselves. In existence, there is never any happiness for those who are careless. By means of these seven qualities, people are born as gods. By means of three causes, beings who are in the world of gods die and transmigrate, and are born in hells, pretas, and animals. What are those three? They are as follows: not listening when the sacred Dharma is proclaimed, being close to evil, and having faith in those who are not virtuous friends but pretend to be virtuous friends. By means of these qualities, they die and transmigrate from the worlds of the gods and are born in hells, pretas, and animals. The ruler of those who are free from strife, Musulindha, said this to those gods: Have you heard all those things that the Bhagavan has spoken? Then all those gods said, just as it was said, we have heard those sutras. The Bhagavan, who is compassionate and benefits the world, taught this sutra for the purpose of taming the careless, and having heard it, how can we not be born again in hells, pretas, and animals?

Listen! You who have been reborn as gods through great wealth, these are your games, so you should not live in negligence! You have fallen completely! The Blessed One has thus taught this sutra to the best of the gods. The fourth part of the thirty-six thousand sutras, spoken by the Blessed One All-Savior, is complete. Thereafter, the lord of the gods, Musulinda, thus taught the gods, and indeed generated renunciation. Moreover, samsara is filled with hundreds and thousands of sufferings, separation from the beloved, meeting with the unlovely, old age, death, sorrow, lamentation, etc., all are filled with these, and also filled with the nature of suffering from the wrong path of perfection and decline. Therefore, the minds of those gods became compliant, and the beautiful appeared, and in order to take hold with benefit, they said these words: The gods who wish to give alms, because of negligence, dwell in negligence, when they dwell on the occasion of the time of other existences, when they reach the time of regret, great suffering arises, for those who are always nearby, when they have gone to a time when nothing can be done, bound tightly by the rope of karma, when one is led away alone without a friend, whether it be a god, a human, a naga, or a hell being, when one is led away by the noose of the Lord of Death, there is nothing that can be a friend except the Dharma. Lord of the gods, the Dharma is the ocean of all sentient beings! Again, the Lord of Non-Contention said this: It is indeed so, except for the Dharma and non-Dharma, nothing can be a friend to anyone. The gods must understand these! In order to increase the seed of faith in others, in order to obtain happiness and benefit, in order to completely destroy suffering, this other nature of gold from the Jambu River is covered with a net of pearls.
