Therefore, for these three kinds of beings, there is only decline. Where would there be perfect prosperity for hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals? For gods and humans, although there is a slight saying that accords with happiness, it is like a tangled thread in weaving, involuntarily turning perfect prosperity into decline. What are the five things of humans? For example, when the eyes see pleasing, agreeable, and beautiful things, they look at them with attachment. At that time, they will taste the flavor, generate desire, and become fortunate to have happiness. Conversely, when they see things that are the opposite of this, useless, disagreeable, and unpleasant, they will then be separated from desire and suffer. These are the perfect prosperity and decline controlled by one sense organ. Furthermore, the monk also connects other declines and perfect prosperities with mindfulness. What are they? For example, when the ears hear sounds that are pleasant, agreeable, pleasing, compliant, and extremely joyful, the mind generates great joy, which is his perfect prosperity. Conversely, when the same sound is heard due to other different causes, if it becomes unpleasant, unbeautiful, and unpleasant, then it will cause discomfort in the mind, being incompatible and unhelpful to the mind, which is his decline. Furthermore, when the monk smells the fragrance of flowers, the mixed fragrance of pollen, and other various fragrances that accord with the mind, these factors will cause him to generate inner peace accompanied by joy. Conversely, when the monk connects only through those extremely firm memories, or when those people smell various odors through the same nose, including putrid odors, and the unpleasant odors of many kinds of impure things that do not accord with the mind, then he will generate inner discomfort.

That is the decline here. Furthermore, that monk also recollects in other ways the prosperity and decline of the human world itself, that is, when the people of the human world experience various tastes with their tongues, agreeable and pleasing things that accord with the mind, after thinking about them, satisfying them accordingly, when fully ripened, bring happiness, and various kinds of increase in life, strength, appearance, and happiness, at that time happiness will arise in the mind. That is the prosperity here. Similarly, when the body also touches various tangibles, agreeable and pleasing things that accord with the mind, in cold seasons recollecting warmth, and in warm seasons recollecting coolness, just as it accords with the mind, that is the prosperity of the human world that has become people. Furthermore, when other causes and conditions cause the body itself to also touch undesirable tangibles, or due to the power of other realms it becomes undesirable, and also due to the discrimination arising from the contact of objects, faculties, and objects, in a firm way, not once and not unilaterally increasing, those who are burned by the fire of desire, naturally, all worldly people are attached to this. What kind of happiness do the heavenly worlds possess, those wise ones who are attached to objects due to desire, discriminate by recollecting decline. The most virtuous monk sees the decline of the six desire realm gods. Among them, the gods of the Four Great Kings lineage have twelve kinds of decline. For example: when gods and asuras fight, losing courage; being struck by asuras and falling down together; falling into the ocean; armor falling off; separating together with attachments; dropping head ornaments together with attachments and shame; fainting from seeing Rahu; at the time of death.

Those goddesses who possess measure, form, and ornaments, go to the newly born deities and indulge in great and immeasurable play, completely abandoning themselves. During play, they become inferior in accordance with their karma. During play, even being born as animals is cursed. Merely sitting on or touching lotuses, their merit declines, becoming in accordance with their karma. When they see the ornaments and other most important decorations, they feel ashamed. These twelve kinds of decline belong to the gods of the Four Great Kings. This virtuous monk, with a pure and undefiled mind, steadily observes the pleasures of the heavens. Having seen them, he scolds and curses the pleasures of the heavens. Those who practice brahmacharya desiring heaven, their brahmacharya is actually practiced for the sake of non-brahmacharya. He also mocks them and feels disgusted. Why? Because they are not free. Furthermore, that monk also always observes the decline of the gods of the Thirty-Three. He sees the eight kinds of decline of the gods of the Thirty-Three, as follows: the fighting between asuras and gods causes armor to be destroyed; when life falls from the eternal track; during impure times, the entrances cannot be seen; having seen, the strength of mind is lost; when engaging in food and play, the essence of color, form, and strength weakens; Indra also unequally perceives sounds, touch, tastes, forms, and smells; at the time of death, women change; the theaters of play become empty. These eight kinds of decline belong to the gods of the Thirty-Three. The declines of the No-Conflict Ones (Yama Heaven) are as follows: because they are known by women, they feel ashamed at mealtime. Because their actions are few, this deity to the deity
