Soft, loose, hard, round, fleshy lumps, limbs and joints that are bent, children and, adolescents and, middle-aged and, becoming old and so on, the order of the body's age, early and late, is very rapid, and this momentary body, which does not stay anywhere, should be observed. Children are approached by the unmindful, obscured by the increase of distinctions, swept away by the flood of existence, these fellows are neither their own consciousness, nor do they die and transfer from other kindred who are in accordance with their share, the iron chains of karma bind the entire continuum, and they are born again in any other birth. Moreover, that which is approached by its own karma, the soft, loose, hard, round, fleshy lumps and limbs and joints that are connected with the continuum of body and mind, are born in the realm of human beings, so children and, youthful vigor and, those stages of middle age, gradually become the ultimate end of death. Just as one is, so too are all those in the desire realm, each and every one of them is completely connected by past karma, and just as the body is in accordance with it, the deeds that accompany the body, the laws that are in accordance with age, in any case, become a transformation for all sentient beings. Such ages are called monks of mindfulness. Furthermore, the third mindfulness, monks should practice, should meditate, and should also bring to an end. Which ones? Like this, death and birth. Night should also be meditated upon, all these sentient beings ultimately become death, the end of the living is brought to an end by death. All sentient beings born in the three realms are also impermanent and, of the nature of birth and destruction, all compounded, accompanied by oppression, the accumulation ultimately becomes separation, therefore, after dying and transferring from the gods, they are born in the hells. After dying and transferring from the hells, they are also born in the hells, and after dying and transferring from the hells, they are also born in the heavens, and people

Having died from there, one is also born in hell, preta, animals, gods, and humans. Having died from there, pretas are born in hell, preta, animals, gods, and humans. Thus, in these lower, middle, and upper cycles, one is completely turned by the wind of karma. Wandering completely by enjoying one's own karmas. Completely revolving in the great ocean of samsara. Likewise, therefore, whether it is dawn, dusk, day, or night, one should meditate on remembering death and rebirth with one mind. That monk, if he has a strong attachment and wrong clinging to anything that has become the sustenance of life, then what he has done will either decline or completely disappear. Among all the recollections, the best is this: remembering death and rebirth. Therefore, those who wish to enter the city of nirvana should cultivate this and keep it in mind. What is the reason why these beings become ungrateful? Seeking a permanent position is meaningless. Since those who are bound by the rope of craving and wander in samsara, how can they attain a permanent position? Then, at that time, he spoke these verses, like this: Being liberated from the fear of existence (samsara), without attachment to anything, the steadfastness of being free from desire, abides in the state of nirvana. Being immersed in the faults of existence, being happy with practicing asceticism, even if their minds find rest, how can they attain peace? Anyone whose mind is deluded and runs after bodies, that is because he has lost the path of Dharma and will be born in hell. Because of carelessness, the mind is disturbed, therefore one does not see it as it is. Carelessness is like fire, therefore strive to completely avoid it. Because of carelessness, one destroys everything, born from the place of birth of a person's karma. The Noble Eightfold Path is also well practiced by him, but everything cannot be seen. Because of relying on the place of carelessness, the ten dharmas will decline. Because he is always careless, meditation will also decline. Carelessness is the most supreme of all the bonds of all beings. Of happiness

Even permanent status is well-spoken of as being cautious. From showing the fear of samsara, whoever's mind is without delusion, that one, having been freed from the fear of bad migrations, is said to dwell well in perfect peace. Thus, remembering death and birth should also be meditated upon. Because of meditating on that, one will always be happy. Having clearly seen death and birth well in all compounded things, one will individually understand the many sufferings of samsara. If a monk in this world abandons those negligences that are practiced in various ways, then that monk always dwells contemplating impermanence. Contemplating exhaustion and decline, the wise one, endowed with mindfulness and attention, is able to end sufferings. Furthermore, a monk should contemplate the fourth mindfulness in this way: remembering perfections and declines. Thus, by remembering perfections and declines, monks who contemplate perfections and declines will not be manifestly delighted in gains and respect. Not being controlled by desire, one does not rely on donors and patrons. Seeing whatever king or minister of the king there may be, and also truly seeing those pleasures of theirs, even then, one does not cling to happiness with the mind. One is not bound by craving. One does not contemplate during the day, and neither during the night. One does not claim other enjoyments that should be examined very well. One also looks at others with a harmonious mind. In this way, one should also meditate with the mind: how these sentient beings will ultimately experience decline, because all perfections ultimately end in decline. The more excellent and surpassing the perfections are, the more powerful and surpassing the cravings become. Even if those are completely ruined, because of attachment to them, they will later be separated in various ways.
