My countless conceptual thoughts will give rise to suffering in the mind, and those examples are not easy to do. When he thus observes well the prosperity and decline, even the kings of the gods do not crave, what to say of human kings or universal monarchs? That is because they all clearly see the various sufferings of decline. Furthermore, whether it be a king, a king's minister, a householder, a royal family, or other very powerful people, even those who are extremely prosperous, after being born, they will decline again and again. They will be separated from sons, male servants, female servants, employees, and those who live by sharing food. Those who fall into the predicament of decline will be ridiculed by others. Those who are ridiculed by others, in the roads and alleys, at the doors of crossroads, with hands and feet exhausted, blood flowing, clothes torn, suffering from hunger and thirst, parched, with voices hoarse, from one city to another, from one village to another, from one mountain to another, from one small place to another, in various ways they experience the unbearable suffering. At that time, this monk, having observed and contemplated well, will be weary of the cycle of existence, which is immersed in various perilous situations. Furthermore, this monk observes the prosperity and decline of people, and at that time, he will also infer the same for the gods. Therefore, for the time being, not to mention those people who are subject to others, and who suffer from the persecution of fire, water, thieves, and kings, and who in the state of decline become various painful fears, the gods have no flesh, bones, and pus, possess the perfect bliss of the heavenly realm, and are surrounded by garlands of heavenly lotus flowers...

Surrounded by hundreds of thousands of goddesses, endowed with unparalleled merits, surrounded by perfect female beings, possessing the joy of frolicking, elegance, and play, possessing divine gardens, ponds, and mountain peaks, shining brightly with the seven precious jewels, constantly accompanied by the sound of five musical instruments, wandering in bliss. Living in pavilions adorned with the seven precious jewels, their bodies radiant with light, they constantly indulge in various unparalleled worldly pleasures. They are free from harming each other, and have abandoned strife and contention. They obtain whatever they desire in their minds. The sound of five musical instruments constantly resounds, bringing joy to the gods. However, when decline occurs, the suffering of decline arises. When their karma is exhausted, they will again be born in the hells, as hungry ghosts, and as animals. Those who are oriented towards samsara, due to the various forms created by rebirth, will transmigrate in various ways between different lives. When death comes, they will see these sights. So, why are they born in the hells? Because in the hells, fierce fires burn intensely, they are afflicted by hunger and thirst, and they suffer unparalleled agony. They will see the Reviving Hell, the Black Line Hell, the Aggregating Hell, the Crying Hell, the Great Crying Hell, the Hot Hell, the Very Hot Hell, and the Uninterrupted Hell, the seven great hells. They will see how they fall into them according to their karma. At that time, they will witness the great suffering caused by separation, and both body and mind will experience pain. These are difficult to describe. The monk should contemplate these repeatedly, day and night. Furthermore, the monk should also contemplate the perfections of gods and humans.
