She sees it as such. She also sees the body as ugly and impure, and she also discriminates that very body. If this living body is impure, then is there even a little bit of purity in our own body? Furthermore, as she seeks and observes reality, this body is one from which impurities flow out from nine wounds. For women and men, it is also nine. What are these nine? What arises more closely is women, for example, the two breasts that are close by. Feces and urine and mucus flow out from the nostrils. From the two eyes are tears. From the two ears is dirt. From the mouth is blood and pus. Foul-smelling wind and, bile and, phlegm and, blood and, feces, and so on, and hundreds of other impurities flow out from the body, and by meditating on reality, one sees it as it truly is. If there is not even a little bit of purity in our body, then who would consider this body to be good? Whatever comes into contact with this basis, those pure things also become completely different due to the impurity of this body, and when she correctly discriminates, all the pure things that are related to this body become impure in the same way, she sees it. For example, if it makes all food and drink disappear, and accompanies that body, it will appear outside. Similarly, what is eaten also makes everything inside impure in the same way. Outside, whatever pure things come into contact with this body, it makes them impure, for example, all the fragrances used to spread fragrance, once they come into contact with the body, become unpleasant due to the sweat. Similarly, all fragrant flowers, once they come into contact with the body, also become stale and unpleasant. That Bhikshuni, like that, further discriminates the body as it truly is, who would cling to this body? Even if this body is called by the term "mother," is this body pure? Or is it impure?

It is so. Then, when the nuns each examined, they also saw that the body of the mother of all castes was generally impure. Furthermore, that nun wondered, how could the places and regions where this body dwells or resides be pure? They separately contemplate the body itself, considering it impure. When they thus separately examined, they truly saw that whether this body is dead or alive, when placed in any most pure and supremely excellent region, it would be accompanied by worms, filth, hair, and bones, and therefore, all regions would become foul-smelling due to their association with the body. Furthermore, in order to abandon desire, that nun separately contemplates the body itself: by what is this body eaten? Through such observation, they find that other than impure things such as rakshasas and flesh-eaters, what else would eat it? Swans, ruddy shelducks, and those that rely on pure lotuses would not. They truly see this. When they separately examine this body as it truly is, they see that this view is inverted, merely clinging to unreal delusions, becoming blinded by improper attention, and believing that the names of men and women are real. They truly recognize this and separately contemplate through proper attention. At that time, all their desires will be abandoned, diminished, and destroyed from the root. For the root of all this is desire for women. Abandoning other defilements is also because of abandoning it, as it becomes the antidote. When the sun exists, the light of the world of humans will not disappear. Similarly, this is also an extremely important root, for by destroying this defilement, other defilements will also be thoroughly destroyed. For that nun

Therefore, through this path, one can completely destroy greed. At that time, besides completely destroying this, what other co-arisen (afflictions) are completely destroyed? For example, jealousy and miserliness. Jealousy and miserliness arise in those who have greed. Whether it is a man or a woman, these two (afflictions) originate from the root of greed. Similarly, by completely abandoning or weakening greed, these two (afflictions) will also be weakened. After these two (afflictions), what other defilements follow closely like a shadow? For example, hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is caused by the two causes of jealousy and miserliness, and if they do not exist, hypocrisy will also not exist. Above hypocrisy, there is another defilement, such as deception. If jealousy and miserliness do not exist, there will be no deception. After deception, the other defilement that exists is clinging to desire. If it is destroyed, it will not arise, because after that, clinging to desire itself will not arise. Because it does not exist, there will be no attachment to equal things and rejection of unequal things. Because it does not exist, the other defilements that follow closely will also not arise. For example, roughness. Without roughness, what disappears with it is arguing and discriminating. Women are mostly of the mind of sowing discord. Because women do not have these, the other defilements that follow closely like a shadow will also disappear. What is it? For example, backbiting. Women mostly have a mind of discrimination, therefore they all backbite. When discrimination is cut off, backbiting will also be cut off. Because it does not exist, the other (defilements) that follow closely like a shadow will also disappear. What is it? For example, causing the belly to swell. Women will focus on filling their bellies and sexual intercourse. For example, when the defilement of filling the belly is completely calmed, then the defilement of walking where one should not walk will also
