Unpleasant desires, the more wealth is acquired, the more they increase, and they also grow together with greed. Therefore, practitioners of the Dharma, even with much effort, should thoroughly destroy unpleasant desires. Gods, here, some people are particularly fond of giving, and therefore become merchants. They buy food and drink from ascetics and Brahmins at low prices, and then trade in the name of giving, in order to please their own hearts. They sell qualities that have no value, selling them for four or eight times the price, or even ten times higher than the original price. This is one of the unpleasant desires that should be condemned. Another unpleasant desire is that Dharma speakers take money after preaching the Dharma, but these riches are not used to make offerings to the Three Jewels. There is also a condemnable desire that some people, through cultivating the habit of wisdom, master the three superior wisdoms. Those who have become monks, have no expectations, and are not completely happy, their desire is condemnable. Yet another condemnable desire is that some people, after becoming monks, sell statues of the World Honored One made of clay, plaster, wood, or silver. Their desire is condemnable, and these riches are not used for the Dharma. Therefore, for people to attain the Dharma that transcends the world, unpleasant desires are condemnable, disgusting, not eternal, not continuous, and not beautiful. If, like the desires of the gods, they wander with all kinds of pleasures, then these unpleasant desires manifest themselves, like mountains formed by the nature of gold, silver, lapis lazuli, Indranila, Mahanila, and crystal, where they experience the joy of playing. From one mountain to another

Those who go to play, completely surrounded by groups of men and women, all of those are done by desire, not by anything else. Gods, you are bound by those desires together with the craving for places, and you do not even realize the fall, nor are you afraid of the evil destinies. There is no fear of unpleasantness, disagreeableness, or separation from places, and you have also become aware of the fear of suffering at the time of death caused by illness. Gods, you are also with that mind overwhelmed by desire, and those actions themselves will completely destroy the extremely unbearable categories. Thus, even when those gods pass away and die without the fear of disease, desires cannot satisfy their minds. Thus, gods, even on the worldly path, will be interrupted by unbearable desires. How can the transcendental path obstruct the worldly gods? Here, being extremely immersed in the sounds, touch, taste, form, and smell of desire, one will obviously like non-virtuous behavior. The gods who have desires are not those gods who have fewer desires, nor are they those practitioners who follow the Buddhist monastic discipline, their minds are not gladdened by hearing. Just like pouring water on the roots, it is the same for all virtuous dharmas, that is, the realization of dharma. And the realization of dharma is impossible without hearing. Since that is the case, how can hearing not be realized? And, negligence, what is the root of that negligence? Because it is the root of desire. Because it is the root of desire. Therefore, whoever abandons desire will enter the city of Nirvana. All those minds that are oppressed by desire will wander on the path of samsara. Thus, gods, on the transcendental path, will also be obstructed by gods and humans. Therefore, those who are intelligent should abandon those unbearable desires with great diligence. From here on, completely inclined towards chaotic giving.

That is the result corresponding to the cause of that effort. Those paths of giving, the gods consider them unable to do, they are done by those with great glory, not by the gods. When a god becomes a human, if one is very happy with the giving that is most difficult to obtain, then that is being deceived by others, like a bad merchant who has declined from a treasure island. Like this, there are also various kinds of material giving. So, what is the giving of fearlessness? And what kind of giving is the giving of fearlessness? There are three kinds of giving of fearlessness: completely saving life, completely saving stolen property, and similarly, completely saving the sons and daughters of others who have been stolen. Among these, giving life will cause one to have a long life among gods and humans. Completely saving stolen property will protect property better than thieves. One will also possess wealth. Kings, thieves, water, etc., will never steal this person's property. One will become a king, will become a minister of a king, and through the result of that action, one will become greatly powerful, have great authority, and will also possess wealth in all other lifetimes. Giving fearlessness to sons and daughters will cause sons and daughters to be well protected. Even at the time of death and rebirth among gods and humans, one will not abandon them in that way. Gods, so what is the giving of Dharma? There are two kinds: mundane and supramundane. Among these, the mundane is giving that corresponds to mundane wisdom and right view that approaches the four dhyanas, one will be happy among gods and humans, among gods and humans, if one does not have wrong views. Abandoning the giving of supramundane Dharma, when one wishes to become a completely purified god, one practices in the desire realm, or one practices in the form realm. If one is born in the desire realm, then one will be born in the ninety-eight levels of the desire realm, such as the lords of the six desire realms who practice in the desire realm. One will also be born practicing in the form realm, liberated from sorrow.
