I. (Thus) those with wrong views will become very numerous. Called practitioners of non-virtue, the gods will hate that evil wisdom, and all the gods will completely abandon that practitioner of non-virtue, and those who harm sentient beings will torment him, causing him to die. Even if he is a merchant, he will lose his wealth midway due to carelessness, due to careless behavior. Here, whether it is a careless monk or anyone else, even lay practitioners will not become diligent when meditating. It is not true that the predicted meditation exhausts defilements; they are merely attached to the taste of food and pay close attention to the time of food. The mind will not become happy, and those who are careless and wander in carelessness, even one in a hundred will not have a joyful mind. Those who are very greedy for taste, with minds like crows and similar behavior, when will those careless ones become diligent in thinking? When he enters a gathering of the Sangha, or among the learned, he will face danger because of his shallow wisdom. For donors and benefactors, glory will also diminish. Fearlessness will completely disappear, and the most excellent of the fearless is to distinguish the dharmas in this way. The worst of the weak is like this: having little learning. The one facing danger will certainly not know his own faults. He will also have more greed and harmful thoughts towards others, whether towards the learned, or towards the teachers, or towards the donors and benefactors, those with joyful minds and extremely developed senses. That person of low intelligence, having done many careless actions, when the body is destroyed, will fall inappropriately and be born in hells. Those who abide in carelessness, in this way, people through carelessness obstruct the benefits of the world and beyond. Furthermore, monks, how does the carelessness of the gods cause obstacles? By their very nature, these gods wander in carelessness due to carelessness, namely sound, touch, taste, form, and smell.

Desire. Those pleasant sufferings, due to negligence, become negligent, old age will come, and will not be seen. Decay is also not seen. The exhaustion of well-done deeds is not remembered. One does not become accustomed to the Dharma. One is not respectful to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. With a mind separated from that, wandering negligently, seeing the arising of the Buddha and being separated, becoming accustomed to negligence, the great suffering of the pain of existence is near, and for those in whom the signs of death have arisen, the suffering of separation arises greatly, and the great fear of being completely abandoned by the assembly of women is near. Like falling into an abyss, when those who closely practice the spoken object, even those assemblies will not be seen a hundred times, and they will go to another world. Those who do not follow them and do not know happiness at the time of death. They will not even breathe out. Those objects are decayed, and the objects are vomit and pus. Again, whatever arises in existence, that which arises from it, is because of negligence, abiding in negligence, and by the deeds done, because of abiding in them, one goes to another existence and follows. He will die negligently from the thorn of desire for objects. Completely abandoned, completely abandoned by all the gods, completely frightened, and also dying completely deluded by objects. He, endowed with the Dharma of time, is born in hells, pretas, and animals. Therefore, whether human or divine, one should not be negligent. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan with the crest spoke the verses: How? With what happiness of objects do the gods constantly enjoy? That is decay, and after that, deeds go and follow. There is no accumulation of pleasures, but there is accumulation of deeds. The gods are deluded by pleasures, and they go by the power of deeds. The happiness of objects now, since it does not do good, the gods who drink well of objects, likewise, those with scattered minds.
