Thus, it becomes the nature of following the Dharma. For this reason, the lord of Tushita placed this jewel inside. Then, those many gods, having heard these words from that god, with minds filled with great joy, were filled with wonder at seeing that jewel, and searched for it near the summit of all the worlds. They saw that jewel in one direction. In what manner it emitted light a hundredfold, even those other magnificent jewels were overwhelmed by the light of this jewel, let alone those without magnificence. Then, they abandoned the other magnificent, light-filled jewels that emerged from battle, and only approached and accepted that one jewel. The jewel that was approached and accepted, also existed by covering ten thousand yojanas with light. All those jewels that emerged from battle, each and every one of them, will be overwhelmed by the light of this one. Just as when the sun rises, it overwhelms the light of the planets, stars, and constellations. Similarly, all the jewels that emerge from battle will be overwhelmed. Then, having seen its magnificence like that, the pride of all those gods subsided, and having become humble by being overwhelmed by the light, the gods only looked at that jewel itself. Also, how the verses that cause one to be free from attachment to it were written in golden letters: The negligent do not abide, Having purified the stains of turbidity, Whenever one enters the path of karma, One always sees happiness. Joy and sorrow, Old age, peak, and youth, The Lord of Death completely destroys. Beautiful and ugly, Strong and likewise weak, The helpless and those who have lost protection, The Lord of Death utterly destroys. Kings or likewise slaves, Self-born or likewise householders, Prostitutes or gentle ones, The Lord of Death completely destroys.
