Will be completely matured. Will practice the correct paths. His mind will become workable. Will possess the knowledge of all things such as body, mind, feelings, dharmas, suffering, origin, cessation, and paths. His mind will become very calm, and his mind and senses will also become very subdued. The body endowed with food and drink will become correct, because the body abides in its own nature, the mind abides in its own nature, and because the mind has abided in its own nature, it is possible to contemplate virtuous dharmas. Therefore, one should not become overly attached to taste. If food or drink or body enters, by merely becoming accustomed to moderation and benefit, in this way his mind will also become workable and his mind will also become calm. Those whose minds have become very calm will contemplate virtuous actions. Practicing the ultimate of virtuous actions, after the body is destroyed and dies, even with just a little scent of those actions, one will become the lord of the strife-free gods, due to the cause and conditions of those actions. The king should also perform other dharmas. What is this? It is contemplating the good deeds that should be practiced. Contemplating the good deeds that should be contemplated, because whether in this world or the next, it accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. Why is that? Because it is the quality of the mind. Whoever, in this place or the other, contemplates the good deeds that should be contemplated, will attain great happiness. However, one should thoroughly destroy faults, and therefore contemplate the good deeds that should be contemplated. One should also pay attention. One should also declare that defilements such as desire constantly lead to evil destinies. For desire, counteract with ugliness. For hatred, counteract with love. For igno- rance, counteract with wisdom. Therefore, those three kinds of defilements can be exhausted by contemplating good thoughts. Those who contemplate evil thoughts cannot. The worldly dharmas are also the same.

Those who contemplate well in this way will accomplish it. But not by contemplating with evil thoughts. Therefore, everyone should contemplate well on all matters at all times and places. From this, all the purposes here will be accomplished, and even after the Dharma body is destroyed, one will become the lord of the strife-free gods of the heavens and the world of good destinies, due to the causes and conditions of the good deeds done. The king should not do other things either. What is this? It is like this: what is called "distant matters" refers to accomplishing worldly affairs, and also doing what benefits beyond the world. If other things are done, they cannot be accomplished even after a long time. One will become intolerant of them. For example, if one is quickly destroyed by illness, then due to the fault of distant matters, even what has been accomplished will be made unaccomplished, and will be in vain. Similarly, if many other things are not done quickly, they will be extremely difficult to endure at other times. Thus, there is definitely not even a little bit of the path of happiness, because one is destroyed by afflictions like illness, and will fall into the lower realms, due to the fault of distant matters. At that time, there is not even a little bit of the path beyond the world. Because the paths will be gradually destroyed, growing like poisonous sprouts, increasing greatly at other times, and burning the untamed continuum. By this, sentient beings will fall into the birthplaces of hells, hungry ghosts, and animals. Therefore, distant matters are not pleasing to kings or non-kings, to monks, to the wealthy, or to anyone. They are not praised at all by everyone. Those who are not distant matters transform the arising faults in that instant. They abandon them. They completely destroy them. They utterly destroy them. They destroy them from the root. Thus, they are able to completely destroy those faults, and ultimately

May it touch upon happiness. A wise person, dwelling on the path of the mundane or the transcendent, can destroy all arising faults. Faults, like poisonous sprouts, can also grow at other times and become many faults. Therefore, those who can immediately destroy faults should quickly strive and well abide in the state of happiness. After the manifest body is destroyed and dies, one will be able to freely go to the heavens and the realms of bliss, because of the causes and conditions of the good deeds previously done. The king should also do other things. What are they? Just like this, one should protect beings with the Dharma. Because a king should protect beings with the Dharma, not with non-Dharma. A king who is supreme in Dharma will also benefit himself and others. He will not do things that are detrimental to himself. As long as one possesses discipline, one can do it. Those who possess discipline will never protect beings with non-Dharma. In this way, one can benefit oneself. How does one benefit others? Those who become sentient beings, who neither believe in the Dharma nor follow the Dharma, he can make them abide in happiness. In this way, one can truly protect beings. From protection, one can also truly possess Dharma, benefit, and fame. Let's say for now, if one first truly abides in the most supreme good with the Dharma, then how can one be completely in accordance with non-Dharma? The king can truly possess benefit, what kind of benefit? Just like this, when the king decides to enjoy the fruits, he collects one-sixth of the tax, at that time he can make the beings prosperous. Because of good protection, the prosperity of the beings will also gradually increase with the king's joyful mood, thereby obtaining liberation. Therefore, possessing the second quality, and truly possessing
