The sun will rise in the sky and stay there. Just as an evil monk, when meditating, carefully considers the worldly reasons that hinder meditation. Similarly, a good monk will fully show all faithful people the reasons that transcend the world. If unsightly things appear, then what are the unsightly things? That is, the sacred Dharma will decline. How are these reasons seen? The so-called "rough color of the directions" refers to the rough words when the sacred Dharma declines, and beings who like to lie, sow discord, kill, and take what is not given will appear in all directions. The so-called "rough winds blow violently" refers to unpleasant vulgar words. When the sacred Dharmas decline, beings who do not possess the Dharma will appear. At that time, unpleasant winds will blow in all directions. Just as these beings commit unsightly sins, unpleasant winds will also blow. Furthermore, just as the worldly reason, the red sun with its comprehensive radiance rises in the sky and stays there, these reasons that transcend the world will also be seen in later reasons. Red refers to the evil monks and the retinues of Brahmins, who, with a comprehensive appearance, arrogantly hold wrong views, thinking themselves to be omniscient when they are not, and are evil suns. Those who are not omniscient but claim to be omniscient, those who come from lowly families, will rise in the sky and stay there. When this sun of wrong views rises, all the grass, forests, dense jungles, and medicines will dry up. This will cause all the virtues and correct views of beings to wither like grass, which are like medicines. Similarly, this is also the world...

When meditating on the transcendence of the world, it makes everything clear, it makes the true reality clear, and it symbolizes the reason why supreme wisdom transcends the world. It also shows through close symbolism. Who are those who have become like this? It is shown to those Brahmins and householders who have faith. As long as the sun of the sacred Dharma rises, one should strive to do good deeds. Later, when all the Dharma has disappeared and the sun of wrong views has risen, those who claim to be ascetics, and those who claim to be Brahmins, are tormented by those who claim to be omniscient, and by evil ascetics and those with the appearance of Brahmins who claim to be omniscient. Those whose wisdom is excellent and vast will declare in this way: 'These reasons for true reality are this supreme teaching of the omniscient one.' Similarly, thoughts of reason become obstacles. When meditating, these and other worldly people will create obstacles. The worldly obstacle is this: it is the worldly person who makes one appear to enter samsara from this path that transcends the world. And the one who transcends the world attains the ultimate of nirvana. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan Light Protector spoke the verses, how: Separated from meditation practice, but always delighting in reasoning, the good Dharma completely disappears, and one quickly falls into evil destinies. That person abandons his own Dharma, but delights in the Dharma of others, that person falls away from both Dharmas, and should fall into wrong views. Completely abandoning one's own home, but protecting the home of others, that person will become a vagrant and a prostitute, and will also quickly become impoverished. Like a foolish evil person, desiring victory, possessing the arrogance of the wise, completely abandoning one's own Dharma, but increasing oneself with the Dharma of others. Relying on the signs of others that are not in accordance with the Dharma and are not pleasing to the ear to make a living, the worldly people who walk like grass will also suffer evil consequences in the future.

It is so. One who dwells in the realm of peace, who turns away from sinful deeds, does not see the multitude of sufferings. Entering the edge of peace is abandoning joylessness and hatred, and utterly transcending the practice of desire. The diligent and contented one, the meditator, is here called a monk. Whoever is not liberated from desire and is attached, who is always engaged in the enjoyment of food, this thief who does not restrain body and speech, is here called a non-practitioner. The giver who explains with reason, the one with a scattered mind who counts the stars, the one who serves the king and is reckless, here, these are not worthy of blame. The one who works as a doctor or painter, likewise the composer of ill-heard poetry, the one who lives mixed up and serves, the monk will greatly decline. Hating meditation and contemplation, delighting in the assembled community, and being attached to gain and respect, the monk who does this is utterly ruined. Truly endowed with the essence of gold, and also delighting in many companions, also because of attachment to the gain of others, the monk will fall from the teaching. Whoever completely abandons the community, and does not rely on the sinful community, even if content with flour and water, that monk is free from disease. Realms like burning, will abandon all that comes, like a jewel, purify all faults, this monk is called a monk. The inner being is also completely pure, and adorned with the light of wisdom, he is covered with the garment of morality, he is called a monk with conduct. Whoever completely transcends worldly dharmas, unmoving with stability like Mount Meru, with peace loving all the world, is called a supreme practitioner monk. In a city or market, staying alone for three nights, also relying on mountain caves, is called a liberated monk. Without fear of sin and turmoil, extremely equipoised and well-restrained, relying on wisdom and with a stable continuum, is called a solitary monk. Unwavering and speaking pleasantly, and completely abandoning sinful companions, without attachment to all activities, is called a liberated monk. Therefore, this monk is liberated from the faults of existence, without attachment to the discriminating consciousness and samadhi of the supreme and non-supreme, manifesting joy in wisdom, virtue completely
