That wicked fellow, even by the desire for poetry and the praise of bad hearing, speaks perversely. He relies on those things that are commonly used. Like a madman, he becomes possessed of a mind that is extremely agitated in all places. Those verses of praise that are bound by false speech are meaningless. Because all formations will be completely exhausted, this is also meaningless. Those who are seized by the satiety of poetry become extremely excessive, extremely weakened, and then rely on alcoholic beverages. Even the distraction of the mind that relies on it causes harm to each other. A mind completely distracted by alcohol will not even do a little bit of meaningful work. Because the mind will also become distracted, and one relies on alcohol, which is the gateway to the evil path of entering into non-virtue. He is controlled by alcohol and does all unwholesome deeds. When he clearly sees women, he is led by improper attention. Having been led close, the bad practitioner engages in impure conduct. He is one whose lineage is corrupted, whose inside is rotten, who does not possess learning, who has become like craving, who is without fruit like the Vidula flower. Like a painted lamp without light, like a painted moon, like cold, he should be thoroughly despised, he is just like those people, this is merely covered by clothes. The form of a practitioner is not a practitioner. From the root of faults that is the combination of bad hearing and poetry, the body is destroyed, and falling into the evil path, one is born in hell. Therefore, those who have become practitioners should not combine bad hearing and poetry. Even if one does, one should praise the Buddha, praise those things that make the sacred Dharma clearly manifest, and those things by which the sacred Dharmas will be completely realized. One should praise the Three Jewels. One should compose poetry that makes the sacred Dharma extremely clear.

Furthermore, the fifth Dharma, which obstructs practitioners when meditating, what are these? For example, counting stars and thinking. Practitioners, those who claim to be practitioners, should not count stars or think in any situation. Otherwise, practitioners will be condemned by the world. It will become an obstacle when meditating. Thinking about these will also lead to the disappearance of merit and life. One will not attain happiness either. A person whose life is exhausted, because of doing what should not be done, will not be liberated from disease, old age, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and fatigue. One will wander in samsara for a long time. Counting stars does not do anything at all in this regard. Stars are not a refuge for oneself or for others. Why? Because karma causes them to enter into it, stars are not a refuge. Why? Because even with the same star, there are happy people, suffering people, ugly people, beautiful people, people with caste, people with low caste, people who believe in Dharma, people who do not believe in Dharma, poor people, rich people, thieves, kings, robbers, wise people, fools, women, men, people who uphold morality, people who break morality, diligent people, lazy people, people who cling to the world, and other such people, are born under the same star. The constellations spoken of by people are not to be counted, because their previous faults and merits are not fully known. In times of virtue and non-virtue, the constellations that have become stars become crowded. Furthermore, the crowding and judging of these constellations is like this: the constellations have not risen, and because of being in front, the pure ones also become few, become more, become manifest, and a constellation also overwhelms other constellations. Furthermore, that same planet will also be overwhelmed at other times. From these, the beauty and non-beauty of the constellations are judged. If happiness and suffering are felt due to the power of the constellations that are thought of and crowded, then by what means will it become powerful to oneself and feel happiness? Being controlled by suffering, how will it overwhelm other constellations? And how will it cause others to feel suffering and happiness? Therefore, only actions themselves are the fruits of good and non-good. Constellations and planets, when they conflict with other planets, at that time they will also feel a sting. Just as the sun and moon are also tormented by the planet Rahu. For those who do not have power in themselves, how can power arise for others? Therefore, the examination of the nine planets should not be done by renunciates. Those who claim to be renunciates should not do it. The great planets that hold are these three, namely, aging, sickness, and death.
