Oh! Those who are extremely miserable, who have become fearful due to mutual fear, those beings are depicted with black paint. Those who have become fearful due to mutual fear are painted vividly by the mind-painter with red paints. Those are also immeasurable animals, who have become fearful due to mutual killing and bondage, in short, among the beings who move in the sky, those who eat meat, such as peacocks, quails, swans, and so on. Those who live on the ground are cattle, buffaloes, pigs, and forest animals, and so on. Those who move in the water are fish, and so on. Those are depicted with black paint. Those who are not fearful of killing are depicted with red paint, such as the birds of the heavens. Thus, those five types of beings are mostly depicted with five kinds of paints. Alas! That which is extremely miserable, weakened by discernment, whose suffering has subsided, who harm each other by recklessly pursuing, who are oppressed by the suffering caused by hunger and thirst. Therefore, without utilizing those wondrous things, they degrade themselves, become lazy, are not of the nature of meditative contemplation, do not recognize the mind-painter, but contemplate pictures that are different from their own lives. They do it intensely. Among those, the most vivid ones are like this: the birth of samsara, aging, death, encountering unpleasant things, separating from pleasant things, cold, heat, hunger, thirst, constantly playing happiness and suffering that make each other unpleasant and pleasant, in hells, hungry ghosts, animals, gods, and humans, the wondrous cycle in which the positions of various karmas are depicted, is also not to be pursued. Because of not paying attention, aversion does not arise. Until other beings enter into meditative absorption, they are able to

Again, he made another picture that turns into anger. It is a completely angry ascetic. Furthermore, one should contemplate the supremely radiant wheel of existence with other sequences, just as one contemplates making it radiant with other colors. For example, the mind that is bound by being closely associated with radiant objects wanders for a long time in the realms of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals. How is it? For example, when the eyes see beautiful and pleasing forms that arouse desire for objects, one becomes attached to them. Those are painted with black paint. One will be born in hell, as a hungry ghost, and as an animal. When those forms themselves are clearly seen by the eyes, one should think like this: since these forms are impermanent, unstable, and not completely unchanging dharmas, one should not be attached to this wheel of existence which is merely a dharma. At that time, having been smeared with white paints, one will be born as gods and humans, and will also go to nirvana. Therefore, one should not be attached to things that can be distinguished by the eyes. One should not overthink. One should not enjoy. One should not have desire and attachment. With supremely white actions, one will be happy in the gods who are even higher than the gods and in humans. However, this bad ascetic does not act like that. He does not meditate. Similarly, regarding the objects that can be distinguished by the eyes, when one becomes attached to them and is able to understand what is truly like that, then one will create black actions. Because he does not understand black actions, that foolish person makes it radiant with paints. Therefore, when entering into meditation, one should not create actions that will be burned. The ascetic should also not remember the actions that have already been created. Which ones? For example, the pleasing sounds that can be distinguished by the ears are also like that. Regarding those pleasing sounds, when

When life is formed, one observes completely and truthfully, like this, these sounds are unstable, impermanent, and of a nature that completely deteriorates. Therefore, consciousness does not cling, does not rejoice everywhere, and does not completely discriminate. At that time, this person has completed the white boundaries. With extremely vast colors, it also vividly depicts the scene of being born as gods and humans. However, a bad monk, claiming to be a monk, does not discern the vividness of sound, and even engages in other painting work, and when he enters meditation, he will be completely burned. Furthermore, when that sound is heard, an extremely foolish, unlearned, and childish ordinary person becomes so immersed, just as a pleasant sound can bring satisfaction, and a charming sound will, through improper attention, cause discrimination, generate desire, and thus become attached. Those accompanied by black pigments are the hells, hungry ghosts, and animals depicted by the mind-painter. The bad monk abandons those vivid scenes and instead paints other pictures. When he enters meditation, he will be completely burned. Furthermore, without thinking about the cycle of existence that has become vivid, the bad monk turns to painting other pictures. What is that? Just like this, the cycle of existence tightly bound by the realm of the senses is destroyed by the pleasing realm. How is it destroyed? Just like this, nose-consciousness is disturbed by smells. When noble people do not accept pleasant or unpleasant smells with their noses, they also do not become attached to unattractive things, nor are they deceived by improper attention. Similarly, these smells are impermanent, unstable, non-eternal, completely changing in nature, and the Dharma will not arise, and even if it arises, it will disappear. Therefore, when...
