།ཡང་རི་རབ་ཀྱི་སྟེང་གི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་དུ་ལྷའི་ཚོགས་བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱ་སྟོང་དུ་མ་དག་གིས་ཀུན་དུ་གང་ཞིང་ལས་ཆེན་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མཛེས་པར་བྱས་པ་དེ་ན། འདི་ལྟར་ལྷ་མཐུ་རབ་ཏུ་ཆེ་བ་མཆོད་པར་འོས་པ་ཆེན་པོ། རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ཆེ་བ། Upon examination, those who possess discipline, or rescue other beings carried away by water or killed by weapons, saving their lives and possessions from the water without regard for themselves; or when walking on the road hungry, even if they are very eager to take what is not given by others, they do not take it; or go to secluded places, and even if their livelihood is difficult, they do not take fruits and roots that are not given; and those who respect discipline and fear even the slightest violation of the precepts, when they depart from the body, they will be reborn in the great and beautiful city of happiness called "Viewing Joy." That city is ten thousand yojanas wide, and the streets and lanes are well divided. The ground of that city is made of Jambudvipa River Gold, and everywhere there are great houses made of lapis lazuli, and also houses made of silver, and also houses made of Jambudvipa River Gold, and various tall buildings, and also thrones made of seven jewels adorn it. Those streets are also very well planned, and the intersections, pavilions, doors, tips of eaves, and patterns of pavilions are very exquisite. Those houses, even without the sun, become like lamps. Just as a lamp shines when there is no sun, so even without the sun, those best houses emit light. Those cities are all adorned with gardens and nearby parks, which are very beautiful. Some gardens and nearby parks are made of lapis lazuli and are decorated with pearl nets; some gardens have gold trees decorated with silver nets; some gardens have silver trees with gold bells that make pleasant sounds; some are beautiful pleasure gardens with trees of seven jewels; and some are wish-fulfilling trees, from which the gods can obtain whatever they desire in their minds. There, birds of the color of lotus rubies make beautiful sounds and play. Wherever there is a golden garden, there birds with bodies of mixed colors make beautiful sounds and play. Thus, if one can see the great city well, then the nearby gardens become beautiful. Wherever streets and golden houses are decorated, they are adorned with silver pillars and lapis lazuli trees. Wherever there are golden streets, lapis lazuli pillars are erected and adorned with golden trees and houses. Wherever streets and houses are mixed and decorated, there are golden birds. Wherever the beautiful city is seen, one sees unparalleled sights. That city is also adorned on all sides by four great gardens, just as it is adorned with a series of nets, great trees, light, and pleasant sights. All the gardens are two hundred and fifty yojanas in extent, and in all those gardens there are tens of thousands of great rivers covered with golden lotuses. Those rivers are very delightful, and the two banks are undamaged, and they are adorned with gold, silver, crystal, and ananda-nila jewels and trees. Those great gardens are adorned by swarms of bees whose wings are lapis lazuli and whose bodies are silver. The beautiful sound of the bees is such that even a sixteenth part of the sound of a human flute cannot compare. The lapis lazuli trees have golden fruits that are very fragrant and have a taste that is even better than ghee. The fragrance of the fruits extends for a yojana. The birds are naturally full, and then they become a hundred times more full because of the fragrance. Wherever there are golden trees, they bear silver fruits that have heavenly fragrance, color, and five flavors. Wherever there are trees with lapis lazuli trunks and golden leaves, they bear fruits of various colors. Thus, the colors of the gardens are diverse, the kinds are numerous, unparalleled, and different from others, surrounding the beautiful great city.
