Without being given, do not take the essence of sugarcane. That noble being who, having killed sentient beings, taken what was not given, and then escaped in fear, upon separating from the body, will be born in the realm of the Thirty-Three Gods in the heaven of good rebirths, among the gods who dwell on the mountaintop. Having been born there, he will possess endless enjoyment of happiness, and that place is pursued by many realms like rivers, which are like rivers of desire. For example, the river of desire, the island of fatness, being attached to the island of satisfaction, the spring of joy, the waves of endless thought, and pleasant things like form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, as well as views, crocodiles, whales, and the agitation of all kinds of creatures, and many obstacles swaying back and forth, gardens, and nearby gardens constantly impacted by water, tiny fish, pleasure surpassing the water, and water flowing from the mountain retreats of many regions. The gods cannot arise from such things as the river of craving, mud, and so on. Furthermore, like the invisible waves on the shore across the Ganges River, from beginningless time, continuously and deeply entering, experiencing birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, weeping, pain, discomfort, and agitation like waves in the realms of desire, form, and formlessness. The rapidly flowing river of craving is also the cause of the hells for sentient beings, and people cannot be satisfied. Thus, the form of the river of craving pursues the gods dwelling on the mountaintop. There, those gods are surrounded by assemblies of goddesses, enjoying the five qualities of heavenly desire, feeling joy, playing, and indulging in pleasure. There, such gardens will arise, for example, a garden called "Always Joyful," a garden called "Always Manifest Joy," a garden called "Piled Up Like White Clouds," a garden called "Everywhere Manifest Joy," a garden called "Like the Moon," and a garden called "Floating on the Ganges." These gardens belong to the gods dwelling on the mountaintop. Garden...

Within those abodes, the gods possess many pleasures and play together with the delights of women, enjoying all kinds of joy. The rivers for drinking are also as follows: named "Various Rivers," named "Rivers that are Smeared and Touched by the Palm of the Hand," named "Rivers that are Never Satisfied," named "Rivers where Lotus and Utpala Flowers Grow," the banks of those rivers are covered with gravel. Silver, crystal, and gold trees, laden with fruit and full of flowers, adorn those lands of the gods in a delightful way. On that land, various virtuous deeds and various actions that have been performed are all initiated. In those gardens, rivers, lands, and in those foods and drinks that flow like rivers, those gods are delighted by the music of the gods, the great abodes of the gods, and the un-woven garments of the gods. Those gods emit light from themselves, are free from flesh, bones, and pus and blood, body, speech, and mind are free from fatigue, body and mind are always full of joy. As long as the desires of body and speech, which are pleasing, extremely cool, and bring supreme bliss when matured, and the virtuous deeds that will surely be experienced by being born in heaven are not exhausted, they will continue to walk gracefully, live happily, play and frolic, and enjoy themselves to the fullest. When those deeds are exhausted, they will die from that realm of the gods, and after death, they will be reborn in hells, as animals, and as hungry ghosts, according to their deeds. If there are other times to be experienced, having been born among humans due to the karma of achieving a human body, then, in accordance with that karma, he will always be wealthy, always delight in knowledge, laugh in his heart, play and frolic, and be able to see the scene of being born in a good place. Then, the monk, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, contemplates the abodes of the gods of the Thirty-Three, thinking, "What other abodes of the gods are there in the Thirty-Three?" He observes through the knowledge gained from hearing, and is able to see how the abode called "The Delightful Place to Behold" exists.
