They play with music and rejoice. Later, they will die from the Dharma Hall (chos bzang), the assembly place of the gods. After death, according to how their karma draws them near and what they experience, they will be born into the hells, pretas, and animals. If they are fortunate enough to be born as humans, equal to humans, they will experience great happiness due to the causal connection with their previous good deeds, possess pure wisdom, and become leaders of each other, or leaders of villages, or leaders of regions, or leaders of cities, or relatives and branches of each other, and live together in happiness. The king of the gods is the one who closes the door to the lower realms. Observing the death and transmigration of those gods, he spoke this verse: What is the land like? The gardens are filled with various lotuses, the peaks are excellent, delightful, and possess jewels. Lakes and rivers are adorned with various precious stones. Trees and flowers are diverse, and birds cover all kinds of species. There are wish-fulfilling trees made of gold, some are immaculate lapis lazuli (beru), and there are pure silver and pure gold; the gardens produce all kinds of mixtures. The bees make sounds, and the lotus ponds are exceptionally beautiful. The tops of the palaces are delightful and possess great jewels. Various decorations are delightful, possessing everything suitable for the gods. All these exist as they are, and beings are completely transformed. Alas, the pleasures of the gods, deluded by desire, are like illusions, bubbles, foam, and Gandharva cities. Desire is like poison and fire, existing for the destruction of the world, wandering in the ocean of desire, destroying all beings. The enjoyment of desire is never satisfied, the desire for happiness is never satisfied. Burned by the fire of death, from where do those assemblies of gods come? Those eminent beings of the world, bound by desire, are inherently evil, not noble. Those gods who are completely deluded have fallen under the power of death. Gods, humans, asuras, yakshas, beings, hells, nagas, all are controlled by the unbearable noose of death, and all will involuntarily depart. All of these three realms are in the power of death.

Even if bound by ropes, those who are deluded by the ignorance of desire cannot see freely. Thus, Indra, constantly seeing the birth of those gods and other impermanent deaths, spoke in verses to make the gods easily understand: To that Bhagavan who desires to benefit all beings, I pay homage. This which is like the poison of desire, is widely spoken to the people of the world. In short, the knower and the known, he comprehends all these. Apart from the knower and the known, a third object cannot be perceived. This is impermanent, suffering, empty, and the agent has also abandoned it. He is the one who clearly shows the path, the Buddha proclaimed in samsara. Thus, that powerful one, with a mind free from defilements, sealed with this hand gesture, praised the Bhagavan. After praising, he again experiences the bliss of the gods, and thus he experiences all the bliss of the gods. Then again, the monk, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, contemplates the abode of the gods of the Thirty-Three. With the wisdom born of hearing, he sees how the abode of the gods of the Thirty-Three, called the high place, is situated. Thinking which beings will be born there, he examines with the wisdom born of hearing, like this, whoever kills others, causing them to keep the precept of abstaining from killing for just one day, and those who desire liberation from samsara, causing them to abandon taking what is not given, and those who fear the king's punishment and make the fruit smaller, after they leave their bodies, they will be born in the high place among the gods of the Thirty-Three in the happy realm. That high place is also high on the top of Mount Sumeru, and as your actions appear in various ways, it is divided by the splendor of gold and silver. After the gods ascend to that high place, they will look at all the foothills of Mount Sumeru, viewing the various forms made of gold and silver, and distinguished by the splendor of lapis lazuli. The garlands of the gods and those who wear clothes rejoice on the grounds adorned with gold, fully enjoying themselves, and surrounded by various groups of goddesses, together with the lovely ones...
