That taker is great. Again, there are three types: making oneself abide in discipline, causing others to abide in discipline, and abiding in equanimity towards others. Again, there are three types of discipline: with defilements, without defilements, and all defilements. Among them, the one with defilements is the one who previously possessed discipline but later violated it; that is the discipline with defilements. The one without defilements is the one who constantly possesses discipline in the beginning, middle, and end of lifetimes. The one called all defilements refers to the discipline of performing sacrifices by killing living beings, etc., with wrong views. Then, that monk discerns and contemplates four types of discipline: abstaining from verbal lies, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter. Again, there are five types of discipline: generating the abandonment of the five objects. Again, there are six types of discipline: with obstacles and without obstacles, taken out of fear of the king's punishment, taken due to relationships, without discrimination, and co-arisen. Again, there are seven types of discipline: of body and speech. Thus, that monk diligently practices various disciplines, and whatever liberates beings from the fear of bad destinies, in short, there are two types: worldly and transcendental. The Noble Sutra of Mindfulness, the Thirtieth Chapter. Then, having seen the gods of the Four Great Kings, he contemplates the abodes and actions of the Thirty-three Gods, thinking, 'By what virtuous deeds and non-virtuous deeds will one be born among the Thirty-three Gods?' He investigates with the wisdom arising from hearing, 'How do the Thirty-three Gods abide?' They abide in the place of good Dharma, abide in the high place, abide on the mountain peak, abide in the well-seen place, abide in one direction, abide in the spaces between trees, abide in various vehicles, abide in the joyful place, abide in the beautiful place, abide in the gathering place, abide near the mixed place, abide near the thicket.

And, abiding in the essence of the jewel, acting universally and clearly, houses of golden caves, shadows of garlands, wandering in low and high places, distinguished by various colors, entering into union, acting meticulously, extremely delighting in and manifestly attached to the sound of songs, blazing with splendor, full like the position of the moon, twin sala trees, walking with eyes open, walking with eyes closed, the body's color being beautiful and large, jewels hanging, conforming to categories, abiding in the cycle, acting in high places, supreme splendor, garland of splendor, unmixed, and so forth. Thus, the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens reside in the realm of the Thirty-Three Heavens. To this, a monk contemplates the ripening of the fruits of karmic dharma and thoroughly comprehends the precepts. Thus, he reflects on the virtuous deeds of the gods. By what actions and accumulations of karma does one desire to generate happiness in the good realms, and what are the painful results of maturation? With the maturation of happiness, one is happy and born, encompassing the speech spoken by people, sounds, tactile sensations, tastes, and those who generate happiness from maturation. Thinking about where one will be born, he investigates with the knowledge arising from hearing. The wondrous sights and sounds, encompassing what is needed for no other purpose, through the teachings of the Buddha, one sees the incomparable happiness and comfort of the gods' birthplaces. In the assembly place of the gods, the Good Dharma Hall, the king of gods, Kausika (कौशिक, कौशिक,kaushika,乔尸迦), protects in accordance with the Dharma. Having first established the abodes of the gods by acquiring external awareness, thus, one distinguishes the categories of all lands. The monk, in what way does he diligently practice the precepts, thinking that he will be born in the Good Dharma Hall, the assembly place of the gods? He investigates with the knowledge arising from hearing, whoever guards the seven types of precepts, these being undiminished, unbroken, undamaged, firm, and practiced well in a way that is distinct from others, and the giving that is born from the mind and fully cultivated is also given at the appropriate time, and becomes meritorious, such as an Arhat, or sick parents, or a Non-Returner, or a Once-Returner, or a Stream-Enterer, or one who has arisen from cessation, or one who has entered the path, or one who is loving
