It is the basis of learning. Non-birthplace is like this, using the difference of mind, or the difference of preference, as the basis of learning. Again, there are two types: defiled and undefiled. Among them, the defiled is the mind that desires to be born in the heavens. The undefiled is the desire to move towards liberation from suffering. Again, there are two types: worldly and transcendental. Among them, the worldly is with outflows. The transcendental is without outflows. Again, there are two types: grasping at self and grasping at others. Among them, grasping at self is oneself upholding the precepts. Grasping at others is also causing others to abide in reasonable precepts. Again, there are two types: entering and returning. Among them, entering is causing entry into samsara. Returning is the cause of wisdom, namely, focusing on the wisdom of no more learning. Again, there are two types: possessing wisdom and possessing generosity. Among them, possessing generosity is obtaining great enjoyment. Possessing wisdom is obtaining liberation from suffering. Again, there are two types: engaging outwardly and engaging inwardly. Among them, engaging outwardly is relying on the body. Engaging inwardly is the mind and speech done with great faith. Again, there are two types: habitual and non-habitual. Among them, habitual is what has been habituated in many lifetimes. Non-habitual is what has been habituated in one lifetime. Thus, the monk examines the two types of precepts in various ways. Then the monk again distinguishes the precepts in great detail, thinking how many kinds of precepts there are, how many aspects there are. After he examines them, there are three types of precepts: one-sided, non-one-sided, and leading to the heavens. Among them, one-sided is holding one basis of learning. Non-one-sided is holding two or three bases of learning. Leading to the heavens is holding the collection of bases of learning. Again, there are three types: craving wealth, not craving wealth, and co-arising. Among them, craving wealth is power increas

is living by relying. Not being greedy for wealth is (the behavior) of those who have diseases. What is born together is being struck by great sorrow, this is small. Again, there are three types: acting together with meditation, acting together without meditation, and rising up and acting together. Among them, acting together with meditation means that worldly people do not generate desire, etc., due to the absence of conditions. Acting together without meditation means that although outsiders do not have meditation, they still become disciplined because of it. Again, rising up and acting together means that upon discovering any fault, one completely abandons it, just as a drunken person walks in unclean places, and he will separately cut off that alcohol. Again, there are three types: guarding with bad deception, guarding without bad deception, and being born together. Among them, guarding with bad deception is affliction and small fruit. Guarding without bad deception is great fruit. Being born together means that the difference arising from the mind makes the fruit large or small. Again, there are three types: holding with conditions, holding without conditions, and non-action. Among them, holding with conditions means that the precepts of the training, which have been properly taken, are guarded after obtaining conditions, that is, collecting the precepts and holding them. Holding without conditions means guarding with what is without conditions. What is called non-action refers to the non-action of those born into great families, that is, not committing sins. Among them, holding with conditions is holding with the difference arising from the mind, therefore the fruit is great. Holding without conditions means not knowing these, therefore the fruit is small. Acting with non-action means doing good in this world, therefore the fruit is large or becomes small again. Again, there are three types: fearing the teacher, fearing the non-teacher, and fearing falling into the lower realms. Among them, taking precepts out of fear of the teacher is small. Taking precepts out of fear of the non-teacher is medium. Fearing falling into the lower realms and
