Ma! What need is there to mention three or four? If one gives in such a gradual, vast, and constant cycle, then after that body separates, it will be seen to be born in the world of gods in the happy realms of higher places, in the places of the ever-intoxicated gods, in the places intoxicated by grape wine. Having been born there, one dwells happily in the gardens of the higher realms, adorned with nets of golden bells and tinkling sounds. In the gardens that produce many sounds, surrounded by hosts of goddesses, attached to desirable and pleasing objects, one enjoys all kinds of delights. Other very many young gods manifest offerings and are intoxicated by many drinks of divine nectar. One's head is adorned with garlands of Mandarava flowers, and one dwells in the crevices of lotus groves. One climbs mountains of gold, lapis lazuli, crystal, and silver. One wanders in the lotus groves where bees make sweet sounds. Surrounded by hosts of goddesses, in the Mandarava flowers and lotus groves that seem to rival hundreds of thousands of suns, one feels great joy upon hearing the sweet sounds of golden birds, and upon hearing the sweet and pleasant sounds of the five kinds of musical instruments. One feels great joy in the lakes of divine water with eight qualities, where the ground is well leveled with gold and lapis lazuli slabs, and the base is leveled with pearl sand. On the Sumeru mountains manifested by one's own merit, one feels great joy on the peaks of the beautiful mountains adorned with stones of gold, lapis lazuli, silver, and crystal. Abiding in various joys and pleasures, laughing and frolicking among the throngs of gods and goddesses, surrounded by hosts of gods and goddesses, one enjoys the fruits of one's well-done deeds as long as the desirable and pleasing karma that one has done and accumulated has not been exhausted. When the karma is exhausted, one will die from that realm of gods. After death, if there is other karma to be experienced, one will fall into the hells and the realms of hungry ghosts.

If one is not born among animals, but is born among humans with the same fortune as humans, then from that, those who share the same causes and conditions will always be happy and dwell in the medicinal lands where mountains are carved, and it is seen that they will become trusted by the king. Then again, the monk who knows the ripening of the fruits of karma contemplates the abodes of the gods who are always intoxicated. With the knowledge that comes from hearing, he sees that the abode of the gods who are always intoxicated is called desire. Thinking about which sentient beings will be born there, he investigates with the knowledge that comes from hearing. Whichever sentient being is endowed with consciousness, whether or not they are endowed with morality, whether or not their views are distorted, may be afflicted by illness. If the causes of illness, medicine, and nursing are given, and the illness is cured, then when they are separated from the body, they will be born among the gods who rejoice in the happy realm of the higher realms. Having been born there, knowing that they are free from all fears, they make offerings in other abodes of the gods, and happiness increases from the increase of deeds, just as light comes from a burning lamp, so happiness increases from the increase of deeds. Thus, the gods in the heavenly realms experience the ripening of the fruits of karma, which is very delightful, unparalleled, and unique. By the power of well-performed deeds, those born there have delightful gardens where they dwell in great bliss on the bright peaks of lapis lazuli, jewels, and silver mountains. They dwell in gardens and lands adorned with many terraces, and in gardens adorned with the seven precious jewels near the gardens, where various lights make them delightful for a long time. Surrounded by hosts of goddesses, they play and frolic there. Thus, the five senses and the objects of the mind are attached and abide in happiness as they please. As long as the desirable and pleasing desires that have been done and accumulated are not exhausted, in that heavenly realm, in that abode of the gods, the mind is completely attached to all desires, and they rejoice, abide, and enjoy as they please. When that karma is exhausted, then again, the fruits of karma...
