I, not born among animals, but sharing the same fortune as humans, being born among them, and from then on, being in harmony with that cause, becoming a master of wealth who is extremely happy and possesses sons and power, and even being respected by the king. Then, O monk, one who knows the ripening of karmic results constantly contemplates the abodes of the gods who are always intoxicated with pleasure. Through the wisdom arising from hearing, he sees how the abodes of the gods who are always intoxicated with pleasure, called the Red Abode City, are situated. He wonders, "Which sentient beings will be born in that place?" Through the wisdom arising from hearing, he investigates, and whoever has a good heart, desiring benefit, possessing a respectful mind, if a monk properly ordains, dyeing his monastic robes red with tree bark or the bark of a child's Lai tree, or with saffron, or with madder, or with cinnabar, or with amla, or with alkali, or with babul, or with gentian, or with flowers including Bandhusa, then upon death, he will be reborn among the gods of the Red Abode City in the happy realm of the heavens. Having been born there, wearing garlands and red clothes, that place is constantly illuminated by a body adorned with light, and those gods also enjoy everything as they please, and through their power, all those places become red in that way. Just as the light of a ruby is without covering, so too do those gods appear red. Any other ornaments mixed with blue and yellow, and objects inlaid with jewels, all turn red, because of the merit of good deeds, their clothes also turn red due to the light. When he is playing and frolicking, going to immeasurable palaces, lotus gardens, ponds, gardens, and various nearby gardens, and surrounded by goddesses adorned with various red ornaments and jewels, then the luster of their ornaments and all colors appear bright and vivid. The son of the gods, adorned with various jewels, goes from one garden to another, from one mountain peak to another, from one lotus garden to another, to play by the water.

Rivers, waterfalls, ponds, and nearby gardens lead to rivers, waterfalls, ponds, and nearby gardens. They play beautiful music with five kinds of instruments, become friends with each other, immerse themselves in joy, frolic, and enjoy all kinds of pleasures. Those who indulge in the six desires enjoy ambrosia-like delicacies to their heart's content, drink sweet beverages without intoxication to their fill, and surrounded by grand gatherings, enjoy all kinds of happiness. The monk witnessed their various entertainments and said in verses: In Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains higher than all, the place that is always higher than it is a place of auspiciousness. In the Akaniṣṭha Heaven of the kings of gods, virtuous deeds lead beings. If one can guard various kinds of precepts, then the fruition of virtuous deeds will mature among the gods. The water of precepts is extremely clear and completely fills everything. Those who have bathed will go to the realm of bliss of the gods. Generosity and precepts are always gentle, and one delights in benefiting all beings. Wisdom is diligent and full of loving-kindness, and one will go to the assembly place of the gods. Those who have the ability to destroy sins, adorn themselves with precious precepts, and are full of love for all beings, they are the most virtuous in the heavenly realms. Upright people are like gold, cleansing dirt and sins. Those who are diligent in correct actions, they are the most virtuous in the heavenly realms. Those who are full of love for all beings, desire to benefit all beings, and completely abandon all sins, they dwell in the place of the gods. Those who contemplate well like a day, and guard the precepts, like a day, they experience many pleasures. That practitioner, riding on the horse of precepts, possessing many amusements, will go to the place of the gods. Whoever frolics in the place of the gods, whoever possesses unsurpassed bliss, the Tathagata has said that those are the fruits of precepts. Whoever possesses the splendid ornaments of the gods, is covered with the flowers of the gods, and the gods frolic in heaven, all of that arises from the cause of virtuous deeds.
