They are born in the land of , and they see that wealth is very abundant and everyone is happy. Then, the monk, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, contemplates the abode of the gods holding handles. Through the wisdom gained from hearing, he observes how the abode of the gods holding handles, called "Universal View," is situated. He wonders which beings will be born there. Through the wisdom gained from hearing, he observes that those who possess discipline, practice virtuous deeds, cultivate their minds diligently, are filled with joy, do not feel weary, and even if it is not beneficial to themselves, care for those who are sick and have broken their vows, will, upon death, be born among the gods of Universal View in the happy realm of higher heavens. Having been born there, they are very happy to wear celestial necklaces and garments, and they enjoy the bliss of possessing the five desirable qualities of the gods. Their minds are always filled with joy, and those who possess the five desirable qualities of the gods wander from garden to garden. They dwell in happiness, surrounded by many lovely retinues of goddesses, and indulge in enjoyment. They are as bright as the light of the sun, their virtuous deeds increase greatly, and they are worshiped by all the assemblies of gods. They dwell in places illuminated and blazing with the light of many precious Mount Merus. They wear various colored garments and adorn themselves with various precious ornaments befitting the heavens. The gods who wander in the gardens dwell in various kinds of gardens they have imagined. While wandering in lotus ponds, pools, canals, waterfalls, rivers, streams of waterfalls, and various platforms, they perform the actions of their own karma. As he wanders about in this way, in another direction, he sees a garden covered with nets of bells and chimes, and adorned with golden railings. Various kinds of birds dwell there, and the flocks of birds emit melodious and pleasing sounds, filling the place everywhere. When the wind blows, the sound of the bells and chimes, violently shaken, resounds loudly. It possesses the light of hundreds of thousands of suns and is taller than Mount Meru.

The appearance of the seven golden mountains is as follows: Extremely High Mountain, Well-Appearing Mountain, Rain-Delighting Mountain, Dragon-Pierced Mountain, Well-Formed Bright Mountain, Jewel-Raining Mountain, and the mountain surrounded by a string of stars. They enter the garden covered with a net of bells and chimes. In that kind of garden, adorned with rows of garden goddesses and so on, those goddesses who walk and play in the gaps of the garden appear in that garden as if emitting hundreds of thousands of rays of light. The gods dwelling between the trees see them, and then, in order to see those whose minds are attached to the five desirable qualities, they go to them and run very quickly, playing with them with golden lotuses, fully enjoying, laughing, and flirting. The sounds of musical instruments also make them very happy. Thus, those whose minds are attached to desire are not satisfied with the pleasing forms of the gods seen by the eyes. They are not satisfied with the pleasant and clear sounds heard by the ears. They are not satisfied with the fragrant and strong smells smelled by the nose. They are not satisfied with the delicious and flavorful tastes tasted by the tongue. They are not satisfied with the pleasant, soft, light, and pleasing sensations touched by the skin, for they are surrounded by the fire of the six desires, which burns them completely. Seeing this insatiable situation, that monk clearly saw and spoke this verse: In all the worlds of the gods, they are surrounded by the fire of desire. The foolish are controlled by desire, and the attached involuntarily generate desire. Just as one finds wood, the burning increases. Just as one obtains happiness, the fire of desire increases. The faults of wood being burned by fire can be completely avoided by people, but the world being burned by the fire of desire cannot be completely avoided. For those who wish to cross a great river, the most frightening thing is the crocodile. If they reach the end of happiness, desire will not harm them. Those who are liberated from the bonds of desire, who abandon attachment and hatred, those who are liberated from sin, those wise ones are free from sorrow. Whoever keeps the precepts,
