Whoever cleans the places of the Buddha, stupas, or the Sangha with any joyful mind, after separating from the body, will be reborn in the happy realms, among the enchanting gods of the high heavens. Having been born there, a fragrance of a hundred yojanas will arise from that body separated from flesh, bones, and pus. Just as everything is reflected in a very clear mirror, so too, everything that dwells near the divine retinue is reflected in that divine body. Thus, one closely experiences the fruits of well-performed actions. In those places, there are four divine gardens, namely: the flawless garden, the clear garden, the fragrant garden, and the garden of Mandarava flowers. In those many gardens, the trunks are of beryl, and there are lotus ponds with silver stamens, filled with the sounds of swans, karandapas, and geese. Covered with flowers of various colors and fragrances, free from the faults of mud and mire, free from turbid water, free from fishiness, the water is always filled with fragrance. In those gardens, there are six seasons that bring great joy, and birds are also seen dwelling together with their mates, delighting in the ponds and enjoying the fruits of their own actions. Those trees also always bloom with flowers in all seasons, free from the faults of aging, and bloom with flowers at all times, as if competing with each other. Thus, one who has fully enjoyed the results of well-performed actions, in those gardens near the groves, is surrounded by charming goddesses adorned with various ornaments, attire, and adornments, and experiences the desirable pleasures. One who is extremely attached to and delighted in the objects of desire, whose mind is completely absorbed in the six sense objects, is like a fish caught in a net in the water, trapped and bound by the net. Even a moment of peace cannot be found. As long as the karma of those desirable pleasures is not exhausted, one will enjoy various divine pleasures there. Later, one will die from that divine world, and after death, according to how karma leads, one will be reborn in the hells, among the pretas, and among the animals.

Thus it is. If, due to karma to be experienced in other lifetimes, one is born among humans with equal fortune, then, according to their karma and cause, they become a great merchant, extremely wealthy, and even respected by the king, as is seen. Then, again, the monk who knows the ripening of the fruits of karma contemplates the abode of the garland-bearing gods. With the knowledge arising from hearing, he sees the abode of the garland-bearing gods, where the gods reside, called those who dwell in the grove near the grove, how they abide. Thinking, 'Which of these will be born there?' he investigates with the knowledge arising from hearing. Whoever has become virtuous, with a subdued mind, regarding the Sangha as a field, whoever offers a single mustard seed for the sake of robes, and after offering, repeatedly expands it with their mind, rejoices, and is exceedingly delighted with themselves, then, upon separating from the body, they will be born among the gods residing in the grove near the grove in the happy realm of the heavens. Having been born there, they dwell in the heavenly grove and the grove near the grove, wandering and going wherever they please. They walk on water without sinking, just as they walk on land, and likewise, they move freely in the sky without obstruction. In those places as indicated, they wear heavenly garlands and garments, are filled with great bliss, abide in a state of self-delight, and rejoice. In the grove and the grove near the grove, and in the rivers and ponds, amidst various delightful and fragrant things, they are surrounded by hosts of goddesses. Blazing with their own splendor like a second sun, they experience the bliss of the gods, which arises from the causes they themselves have created, closely connected to the power and association of those causes. There is no such thing as others doing and others experiencing. Experiencing the fruits of one's own actions, beings who are necessarily born from karma, those who act virtuously will be born among gods and humans, while those who act wrongly will be born in the hells, among the pretas, and among animals. Those born there due to virtuous actions, as long as the virtuous actions are not exhausted,
