Surrounded by all, they approach the place called the Inner Vast Sea. Having arrived there, those gods who greatly enjoy and universally partake appear, and they also see Musulinda, those gods possessing various drum and musical instrument sounds, their minds filled with tenfold joy, from all the palaces, all the rows of houses, all the lotus ponds, and from all other places, those gods stand together, with pleasant sounds and various transformations, and with great joy and faith, all gather where the Lord of Non-Contention, Musulinda, dwells, traveling in the sky. In one way, with well-born respect and joy, seeing him thus well-abiding in the sky, they join their palms to their foreheads and prostrate with their whole bodies. All those gods, with Musulinda at their head, accompanied by dance, go to the place called the Inner Vast Sea, which possesses all perfect qualities, countless rows of palaces adorned in various ways, emitting various delightful sounds, possessing hundreds and thousands of trees, a light that shines brighter than hundreds and thousands of suns, surrounded by the assembly of gods, the ever-joyful gods of non-contention, having arrived at those places. The Lord of the Non-Contenders, Musulinda, being well-seated on the ground, the gods praise him with supreme joy, and he satisfies those gods with various words, and then they all go well to the place where there is the entrance to the sea. Having approached near there, they also enter the palace called 'Seeing and Rejoicing the Mind.' Upon entering there, there are rows of light from the seven precious jewels, each part shining in various ways, possessing thousands of splendors of qualities, equally worshiped by all the assemblies of gods and goddesses, and when the Lord of the Non-Contenders enters there well, it is the best of divine objects.

The king of gods, who shows all happiness, is well seated on a lion throne adorned with the seven precious jewels of supreme glory. He is surrounded by a host of the most senior gods, who are exceedingly happy and delighted, and is closely attended by hundreds of thousands of gods. Then, the king of gods asked those elderly gods, who were the most senior, "Why does the lord of non-contention, the supreme of our teachers, whom we have not seen for a long time, come here riding on a lotus?" Then, Musulinda said to those gods, "O gods, I have seen with great wonder in the lotus, and all of us, the hosts of gods and goddesses, are filled with it, and have come here riding on a lotus. There, too, the great lord of non-contention is known in many ways to have all the qualities in abundance. All those supreme elders are as before." Then, having heard that, those gods who are most beautiful to behold and whose sight brings great auspiciousness, surely know the story of the birth of the lord of non-contention, Musulinda. As you have heard from the mouth of the god himself, it is within that great self and within those who also possess great glory. Within that great lotus is such supreme desirability and such a form of qualities, that in these ranks of the gods of non-contention, there is no other substance different from that form. How is it heard within that, how is it proclaimed that the Bhagavan, the unsurpassed tamer of men, the charioteer, the teacher of gods and men, named Golden Light Buddha, has appeared in the world. The Dharma he taught is good in the beginning, good in the middle, good in the end, with good meaning, beautiful words, completely perfect, completely pure, completely cleansed. He teaches the Dharma, saying, 'This is form. This is the arising of form. This is the cessation of form. This is the path leading to the cessation of form.' Thus, understand.

Thus, he revealed the Dharma that is virtuous in the beginning, middle, and end. His scriptures enable the very many beings in thousands of regions of Jambudvipa to see the truth, and gradually to enjoy the excellent fruits, such as non-retrogression, stream-entry, attainment of the fourth dhyana, attainment of the third dhyana, and even attainment of the first dhyana. He accomplished these deeds of the noble ones. The remaining beings also practice the ten virtuous actions, converting hundreds of thousands of regions to the Dharma, and placing them in the state of accomplishing virtuous deeds. He also observed with his superhuman divine eye, who is to be my object of taming? He saw that among the gods of the Abidveṣa heaven, there was a god to be tamed, namely the god named Soumyo, who was the lord of those gods, whose virtues had declined, and who was abiding in heedlessness due to negligence. Among the other gods who were close to him, those whose faculties were fully matured were also abiding in heedlessness due to negligence. Out of compassion for them, the Bhagavan Golden Light Buddha resided in this world, for the sake of benefiting the gods, for the sake of fulfilling the purpose that accords with their wishes, for the sake of exhausting suffering, and for the sake of separating them from the defilement of heedlessness. Surrounded by five thousand who had exhausted the defilements, he emitted a great light that was far more intense than all the gods residing in the Abidveṣa heaven. Having seen this, those gods who had never seen the All-Knowing One were even more amazed. They said: This form of a god that has never been seen before, possessing many qualities, unlike the forms of other gods, this light has filled the entire realm of the gods. Having approached him and heard his voice, those gods were greatly amazed. They said: What kind of appearance does this god possess? Those gods approached and attended upon this god.
