The size, color, shape, and enjoyment of the thirty-three gods cannot be compared even to one hundred thousandth part. When their karma is completely exhausted, they will fall. When they fall from countless kotis of yojanas away, that light becomes faint. Just as when a candle is extinguished, the light becomes faint and unclear, so too, when they die in the sky, that light becomes so small. Those lights of Śakra, which are extremely bright, cannot be spoken of, and the thirty-three gods cannot even see them. Why is that? Because they are not the realm of realization, nor are they the realm of entry. Kauśika, just like that, whatever light of the gods of non-contention there is, the gods of the thirty-three cannot even see, because that is three times the fruit of others' actions, and the fruit of the thirty-three is twice the fruit of others' actions. These things that I have heard from the Tathāgata, I am now showing to you. O lords, at that time, sorrow arose, and when the god dies, the light that emanates from the sky from countless kotis of yojanas away, when you see it, do not be afraid. Then, Śakra at that time spoke in verses as follows: How great, how great is the happiness, how great, how great is the enjoyment, so too, so too, is the suffering great, and certainly in the end, there will be a fall. The fruit that accords with karma is always seen by the Tathāgata. Karma enters with greater distinction, and the fruit also enters with the same distinction. Just as from above to above, the connection of karmas is seen, so too from above to above, the fruit is connected in that way. For these beings who will be born, karma is certainly established, and from the karma of birth, the most excellent body, color, strength, and lifespan will be obtained. After karma is exhausted, there will be a fall, and all of these will certainly fall. If the seed is निश्चित(藏文,梵文天城体,niścita,梵文罗马拟音,niścita,汉语字面意思:确定的) burned, there will never be growth. A candle is always like a moment, and the mind is also seen as connected to a moment. In accordance with the cause, which is the mind, karma is also like that, a moment. Whatever is born from impermanent karma is of the nature of arising and ceasing.

That happiness with outflows is always unprecedented and will not occur later. The self-nature that is unborn and indestructible, liberated from afflictions, that is happiness. Whoever obtains it will surely go without harm from the realm of samsara. Whoever is free from existence, without desire, liberated from the faults of existence. The happiness of embodied beings is the protection of those dwelling on the other shore. Whatever happiness is slightly with outflows, all those are momentary thoughts. Whoever is liberated from that, all those are steadfastly happy. Thus, Indra shows the suchness to those gods dwelling in the cycle of existence. Having shown it, he then relieves them and sends them back to their own abodes. He also taught this Dharma, saying: Thus, at all times, be mindful. Then, some of those gods also returned to their own abodes. Then, those who are again under the dominion of the land, rejoice with the five-limbed musical instruments and enjoy various pleasures. In the gardens and places beautified with various kinds of musical sounds, as long as the desire, loveliness, and agreeable things have been done and the accumulated karma has not been exhausted, they continue to rejoice and enjoy various pleasures. Afterwards, when that karma is exhausted, they will die from that world of gods. After dying, just as karma approaches, they will be born in hells, among pretas, and among animals. If some are equal in fortune to humans and are born among humans, then in accordance with that karma and cause, they will always possess supreme happiness. They will see that they are born with great miraculous powers, that all beings rejoice, that they are without disease, without suffering, that they are born into noble and great families, and that from birth onwards they are supremely happy and appear lovely. Then, again, the monk, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, contemplates the abodes of the gods of the Thirty-Three. Through the knowledge arising from hearing, he sees how the abode of the gods of the Thirty-Three, called "Enjoying the Heights," exists. Thinking, "By what will beings be born in that place?" he then investigates through the knowledge arising from hearing. He discovers that those who possess Dharma and follow Dharma always rightly regard the fruits of karma.
